Punk, but unique sounding
Each riff is pummeling and catchy, and every vocal melody floating and punchy. The fact that they were able to make an entire record without a guitar, and mainly just bass and drums, is amazing considering how full and chaotic and in your face each song can be. The major downfall of this album is almost all of the songs sound similar if not the same, but they rock on so hard it really doesn't matter. will return to this from time to time.
If I had to review this in one word: Seldom
It is the most personal, closest record I have ever listened to. His vocals human and near your ears, and his guitar playing touches your heart, and is surprisingly technical. An album I go back and forth on a lot
I want to say this project is one of the most unique sounding albums out there. It has its own weird personality and each song is well made and catchy, while sounding interesting and experimental. However, a lot of the songs can tend to latch onto a few catchy ideas, then meander on without growing or changing much, and when it does change, it doesn't feel like its changing with purpose. This is an example of how to make a perfect album.
Even on the songs that aren't as good as the others, like The House That Dripped Blood, and Peacocks, every single lyric and melody and instrumentation choice is noticeable and memorable down to its core. There is not one song on here that isn't from the heart and soul.
