What an album from Cole, his best work and a perfect ending to his fantastic album career.
Track reviews:
2-6: Good first track with aggressive rapping from Cole, catchy and a great outro. (85/100)
Safety: written from the perspective of a Friend writing to Cole, incredible storytelling, great beat and shows some of Cole’s best work (94/100)
Run a Train: Another great story from Cole detailing the life in the city growing up. Future with a good feature as well. Very soulful beat too. ... read more
I don’t know why everyone expected this album to be sensational, Rocky was good on the album and it is very solid. The features are mostly good and I would say it has potential to be worth the wait.
Trying hard to be a College Dropout type album but falls short. It has some standout moments but the quality/budget of the album slightly ruins it. Dugui HD can improve though.
One of the most commercially friendly albums by Kanye, with almost every song on the album being a huge hit. With little features, it still manages to be mostly consistent throughout and is a fitting end to the College trilogy.
Probably the most underrated track on GKMC, with a brilliant beat by Pharrell as well as incredible rapping and storytelling from Kendrick. Truly one of his best works.
Up there with Illmatic as the best debut album of all time. Kanye shows that he can rap as well as he produces in a series of brilliant tracks with not a single miss. The features are excellent and it ranks as one of Kanye’s best even today.
This album has some of Tyler’s best producing ever but is a drastic difference to Chromakopia, a very personal album with some of his deepest works. Dont Tap the Glass is an album meant to just listen and enjoy rather than reading too much into the lyrics.
A rapper and producer at the top of their game on this album, which presents to us an exquisite dish, from the absolutely brilliant rapping from Freddie and incredible producing/sampling from the Alchemist. Truly one of the best projects of the 2020s.
Incredible lyrics and bars on here, and is criminally underrated. This album is probably the best of 2025 along with LGSEO. Dave delves into more introspective topics in his songs, and the album also has some great standout moments and more radio friendly songs.
Some of the best rapping from Conway, and though this isn’t the most complete project ever from him, it has a strong argument at being one of the best of 2025. Some great tracks/moments on this album.
Obviously a compilation of tracks, but this still stands out a lot and has some great moments. Good album which would be one of the best in many other artists discography.
Absolutely fantastic storytelling album from Cole with some of the greatest hip-hop tracks of all time (4yeo, Changes). However it does contain some filler which keeps it from being at the level of a GKMC for example. Some outstanding moments though, and this deserves to be higher up in many rankings.
A fun-to-listen to R&B album with some fun tracks, and also a lot of interludes. In my opinion is very underrated among a lot of the albums of the 90s.
Fantastic rapping and rhymes from Doom coupled with some satisfying beats and samples from Madlib.
Fav tracks: Fancy Clown, Raid
Least Fav Tracks: None
What an incredible debut project. The rapping performance is nothing short of phenomenal and it seems very much like a more modern Illmatic.
Fun little Christmas EP. Just good for a Christmas film and nothing more than that.
