Gorillaz power on with yet another ambitious project; "Plastic Beach" is the band at their most beautiful, introspective and musically competent. Through glistening synthpop, grandiose orchestra and off-beat hip-hop, Gorillaz create the wonderfully off-kilter Plastic Beach through a series of fantastic art-pop tracks. The conceptual focus on this record, alongside a number of ear-catching hits and more reserved or intricate compositions, makes "Plastic Beach" one of Albarn's ... read more

A collection of sonic experiments that run congruent to the ambitious "Demon Days", Gorillaz pull together some fantastic tracks for "D-Sides" that feature some of the groups' best tracks. Grimey and occasionally challenging, the rougher approach here is more reminiscent of the early Gorillaz work, offering a new side of the band during this stage. The remixes featured on the second disc are hit and miss but feature some great versions of the album tracks.

Gorillaz finest artistic statement. The dark and dystopian pop soundtrack to the demonic disasters that plague the modern world, the group once again create a scrapbook of genres, including indietronica, trip-hop, electronic dance music, dark pop and hip-hop to paint a sonic tapestry that creates a holistic image of the horrifying state of the 21st century. Offering a voice for a generation of millennials and gen-z teens disillusioned by the landscape of modern living, "Demon Days" ... read more

The first three Gorillaz project are characterised by mess, but this one is by far the least well organised. This dub reworking of the eponymous debut from the group is definitely fun, containing some fantastic renditions of these tracks, but is too plagued by a state of disarray to be much beyond a record of interest for hardcore fans. Despite its flaws, I've always quite enjoyed "Laika Come Home", and will always be thankful that it introduced me to dub music.

If the debut was too messy for your tastes, its best to avoid this compilation. These sometimes half-baked b-sides and rarities have a lot to offer, recreating the dub-soaked unpredictability of the debut well with a little less quality control, serving some hits but definitely a few misses, too.

Hello, I love your album reviews.
My new EP, a very short one has just released. Will be grateful if you listen and review it. I need honest review, it could be harsh but I want to know what people thinks and how can I improve. There's is some Hindi Lyrics (very few) but the 90% of the album is English. Attaching the AOTY and Spotify link. Will be grateful forever if you respond. 🙏🙏
