Making your least experimental album so far, and calling it "Experimental Rap" is definitely a choice...
I don't think I ever saw an album as consistent in it's greatness as Marquee Moon. Huge potential for a 10 when it settles comfortably into my rotation.
Album in and of itself isn't that bad.
What killed my outlook on this type of music is every single artist that has followed the trail paved by My Chemical Romance.
It's what I call "cringe rock".
Nevertheless The Black Parade is a very good "cringe rock" album.
I'd call this album a collection of melodies that everyone knows in some shape or form. It's really incredible, it feels like half of the musical world took inspritation from this record.
The bloated length is what holds back this album. Which is ironic, considering this is one of the better long albums I've heard.
Ashamed to admit, but if it wasn't for the Control 2007, I wouldn't know that this song was even a thing. I didn't know I missed out on such a generational track.

This is the biggest mixed bag if I ever seen one.
On the one hand, some songs create "somber" atmosphere, have relatable lyrics and quite surprising structures hardly found in contemporary pop.
On the other hand other songs evoke "what if Tame Impala was singing The Neighborhood's lyrics", with obvious tiktok hit baiting sprinkled on top.

Solid, but too safe. Just some good tunes flowing into each other nicely. Lacks any standout track and that's what's holding it back.
I like the songs a lot. But it doesn't hold a certain "uniqueness" for me to keep me engaged. I liked the experience of listening to it but I probably won't be going back.
Never thought I will have a spiritual experience while listening to Metal Rap album
