shiny, joyful, nostalgic
Weezer comes back with another project, this time completely devoid of electric instrumentation. Stripped back and full of orchestral and acoustic sounds Rivers Cuomo finds himself forced to take turns in songwriting that remove the anger out of his demeanor and instills happiness and joyous themes to this album. With most of the band delegating their duties to the orchestra in some tracks they still maintain their identity, most of the sounds in this album take me ... read more
groovy, kate bush would be proud, peter gabriel is pissing his pants
pop perfection, that's the review
groovy, funky, and sunny
pretty good that the guys who left PatD went on to make this very nice beach boy-esque project, it's very nice and takes some of the Pretty. Odd. aesthetic and just makes it more pop, which is a welcomed transformation.
baroque(?), emo(?), and psychedelic(?)
what a fucking incredible mix of genres, beatles music with emo lyricism, this is the best album this band has ever made and will ever be able to make.
story time guys, please seat down next to your camp partner and get ready to hear some very revealing and emotional anecdotes that relate to the overall theme and progression of this amazing ex-boyband since its inception into pop culture.

a lot of high ratings coming round my profile, hope this year keeps up with the amazing releases. here we get a pop masterpiece from one of the most exciting pop artists in Latin America, Duda Beat has delivered again with a more experimental and sample-heavy album with nods to bossa nova and samba, but also updating her standard pop sensibilities to match her new atmosphere. very good
the world's second-best Slint tribute act
that's the review
i feel like post-punk has been going this revival for most of the late 10's and early 20's that has reinvigorated the genre along with what's next for such an interesting genre such as punk. new artists are popping up like crazy and we are seeing a new resurgence of good music coming from all parts of the world, specially the UK, with bands like black midi; bc, nr; idles; shame; hmltd; and the sorts. along for the ride join squid, an art-punk outfit unlike any other, only adding to the punk ... read more
my favorite weezer album
the only logical sequel pinkerton
Beverly Hills and We Are All On Drugs are duds but this whole album is just a big sad sack of virgin core power pop
Haunt You Every Day is a fucking masterpiece, best weezer song
I hear a lot of people saying that one horrible song was her breakout but to me it was always I Wish I Was Stephen Malkmus that came up in my mind when thinking about her and her sound. As a big fan of Pavement myself I certainly knew that no one would know who the fuck Stephen Malkmus is and they should, because without that knowledge in mind one would just write her off as some '00s nostalgia trip or whatever.
Pavement was probably one of the most seminal bands of the 90's alt rock scene, or ... read more
Scott Mescudi has finally become what he was always meant to be, not what he wanted.
Kid Cudi once again delivers, now a fully complete person he examines and interprets his life in a whole new way, without the influence of drugs or mal-intent, Scott can finally see it all.

nostalgic, energetic, strangely comforting
really nice stuff here, sounds like if the replacements were a band in the 60s or if cheap trick was fronted by two brunettes
diverse, heartfelt, cute
CUTEST ALBUM OF 2020
i just got into them this year and their stuff is very good. this might be my favorite of theirs more for the diverse tracklist but also the sounds in here. they're so comforting.
a very comfy album for a very comfy and relaxing mood
unsual, underrated, overhated
everyone hates this but it's so friggin good
PERFECT ALBUM
they really complement each other don't they, connor and phoebe are the best duo to come out of 2020, sincerely and honestly. the sounds they make reverberate through your soul. it doesn't hurt it's that one album you were looking for all year. the one with that one song that you overheard while passing someone else's funeral, not someone you know but someone you somehow felt a great connection to even without barely knowing.
the sounds in this album really hark back at the sound ... read more
