Hail the Sun - Wake

HORRIBLE TIME IN MY LIFE TO HEAR THIS. Unironically this middle school edgelord shit hit hard because of derealization yadda yadda. Someone told me once to rate things based on my personal enjoyment and I was thoroughly hanging off every lyric and every chord. Call me a middle school emo kid reincarnated but that's how it is. Thank you Harrowhark Locked Tomb...

Edit: I figure since in the time I first reviewed this it has become one of my favorite albums of all time and I've seen it ... read more

I've been listening and coming back to this album since I first heard it. I fell in love with Eusexua, then saw the live performance on The Body is Art and whew. I love everything about this album. It's primal without yelling at me (most of the time) and really inspires me to love and live.

I really respect the west coast rep here makes me proud to be from the best coast BUT there's nothing really deep or new about this so when compared to Kendrick's other stuff this is fun and will definitely get replay value but It's not anything new or profound and dare I say even creative. It's a love letter to the west coast and it does a good job at that.

This was exactly what I expected it would be and I still fucking love it. Similar to Igor with that combined feel from CMIYGL this has exactly what made Igor so great with the combined wider appeal. It's less experimental than Igor sure, but it doesn't take away from the experience at all. Tracks were punchy, nothing boring, and as usual I fucking love when albums have the songs weave into eachother (Rah Tah Tah outro into Noid intro off the top of my head) There's a lot to this ... read more

I have no clue what skinty fia means...
This album is pretty front loaded to me, with my least favorite songs definitely being bloomsday and The couple across the way. Despite that though I'll still have a good amount of these songs on rotation for a while. I don't have anything special to say about the lyrics or themes, this is a pretty casual listening album.

Favorite Tracks: Jackie Down The Line, Big Shot, I Love You, Roman Holiday

Drab Majesty - Modern Mirror

Absolutely what I was looking for, this gothic 80's sound is exactly what I hoped to find this spooky season. Ultimately I don't think this album is anything special on a lot of levels but I can tell that I'll be getting a lot of replay value out of this regardless. It all feels like a cool chill on a gloomy day, not excessively dark/industrial but just right.

Favorite Tracks: The Other Side, Ellipsis, Dolls in the Dark, Ocytocin, Out of Sequence
