Panopticon - The Rime of Memory
98

My fav panopticon album without a doubt. So many great parts but Blue Against The White is a top 3 black metal song of the decade.

Swans - Birthing
98

initial thoughts are this record is their best since The Glowing Man... such powerful passages and feeling like luminescence and darkness all in one package. Feels like coming into his own while still trotting through life in the unknown. Michael is what you would call being 'born'. The juxtaposition of this album is sublime. Nothing like Swans in all of music. Easily my fav record since The Glowing Man and def in consideration for top 5 in their catalog which is some high high praise ... read more

Aesop Rock - Black Hole Superette
79

Probably his best since Malibu Ken very funny songs and amazing features from this latest Aesop Rock Record. Throughly enjoyed my time.

Shadow of Intent - Infinity Of Horrors
85

great track with the usual Shadow of Intent sound. Great breakdown at the end so probably the best one out of the singles so far for their upcoming LP

Lorna Shore - Oblivion
92

After three years of making Pain Remains, Lorna Shore returns with an epic 8 minute long journey which does not over stay its welcome. Great vocals from Will as usual with probably their best chorus to date. Cant wait to hear more this year from them.

billy woods - GOLLIWOG
97

His most comprehensive record since HWAM

clipping. - Change the Channel
91

Great energy and awesome switch up for clipping. This band always giving us surprises. Some of Daveed’s best fast rapping bits I’ve heard too. The rapping actually fits the theme too. The production is jarring at first but after a couple plays really enjoy it, almost hardcore feeling. Chorus is probably the weakest point with it not being clipping best or catchiest but I think the song still stands as a fantastic single for the album in March.

Disembodied Tyrant - The Tower: Part One
93

A serious display of talent of vocals from Blake. Can’t wait to hear a lp with this on it

Opeth - The Last Will and Testament
94

An amazing return to form for opeth with their latest!! Amazing vocals as usual from Mikael but it’s the progression through this album that makes it so special for me. The guitar work and drumming and how everything interconnects so well to give this almost unexpected feeling to this album which makes it so refreshing. The riffing throughout is stellar. Feels like Hendrix is playing with a mix of Hatfield. It’s an odd but fun mixture. Some standouts are §4,5 and the closer ... read more

Kendrick Lamar - GNX
82

Has high highs and lower lows for Kendrick. Kendrick on this surprise album gives us some really fun and uplifting hip hop we always love to hear but also gave us some of his worst tracks to date with subpar production choices from him. Good example of this is on gnx. A ok song with a very odd production choice that just does not fit within this album. The beat feels very flat and has no luster to it. But on the other hand Kendrick made some solid production choices where it just exploded and ... read more

Chat Pile - Cool World
90

Absolute amazing second half to this masterpiece. Bring some of the best sludge metal i have heard in years. The energy, the passion throughout is just unmatched. Songs like The New World and Milk of Human Kindness display that emotion perfectly with atmospheric amazing riffs and killer vocals. I am not too deep into the lore of the album but seeing the quality of the music it is probably something looking into as well.

Ka - The Thief Next to Jesus
87

one of the best rap albums this year for sure, one of KA's best since 2020's Descendants of Cain. Having not only great flows and rhymes but amazing spacey production.
RIP to one of my favs, truly will be missed.

Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere
97

An absolute beautiful display of progressive death metal. Theme is something i haven't quite fully grasped just yet but the music is some of the best metal in the 2020s for sure.

Nile - The Underworld Awaits Us All
86

best nile album in years

Navy Blue - Memoirs in Armour
82

this seems like a slow burn album but after a couple of listens I can confidently say this album is quality. Not a single song I would put anywhere close to bad. The last two tracks are some of NB most quality songs ever. For some one who loves this vibe in hip hop it is a welcome addition to the rotation.

Ice Spice - Y2K!
18

please never make hear this garbage again. I had the picard meme face the whole time.

Denzel Curry - King of the Mischievous South Vol. 2
89

After listening to the album a solid amount I can say it hits hard. While its not Denzel's best and it is not meant to be. It is denzel's funniest since UNLOCKED and ZUU. Bringing some homage to the Memphis sound that he grew up on and mixing it with some Florida flavor. Denzel never had any down moments on this really, starting it off with the pummeling ULTRA SHXT and SET IT with SET IT being one of Denzel's most aggressive and fun tracks ever. Maxo doing an amazing job on his ... read more

black midi - Hellfire
98

one of the best prog albums ever. I will never forget the ride I went on when I first heard this.

Eminem - Encore

confusion: The album

why do i keep listening to these crap albums... idk guess to torture my soul. One of the most lifeless and unfunny albums I have ever heard. I would rather listen to revival era Eminem than any of these Lil Dicky songs.
