Anderson .Paak - Oxnard

Oxnard has grown on me SO much since my first listen. Anderson .Paak has so much goddamn charisma that just radiates through this record and makes it an absolute delight to listen to. The biggest examples of this are Tints and Trippy where Anderson .Paak sees himself smooth talking his way through a groovy jazz instrumental with features from Kendrick and Cole, both of which I really enjoy.

The album has its share of bangers as well with Brother's Keeper which features a killer verse from Pusha T, Mansa Musa which has some aggressive bars from Dr. Dre and the Nicki Minaj sound alike along with some HELLA groovy saxaphones on the hook, and Who R U? which is probably Anderson's most intense vocal delivery on the whole project.

A track I really did not like at first that's grown on me since repeat listens is 6 Summers which initially came off as extremely tacky to me but ended up being pretty funny with its "Trump's got a love child" refrain. Even if it's a little dramatic or contrived, I think the track is still fun, and the second half features some REALLY awesome bars from Anderson so no complaints there.

Sweet Chick and Cheers are two examples of tracks that I missed on the first few listens but struck me as pretty fun once I actually paid attention to them. The Q-Tip and BJ features do the tracks their justice, and combined with Anderson's intense charisma they're extremely fun to listen to.

So yeah, I really love this album.
