Even as I begin this review I don't know if this album will rank higher than Revival number wise, but I'll tell you this much. Revival felt purposeful, even if it was HEAVILY flawed and featured abysmal production. This is just fucking embarrassing. There's no redeeming qualities, it's just sad.
Yellow Brick Road, Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird are definitely tracks worth putting on your Best of Eminem playlist, Mosh doesn't really get me too empowered but it at least shows Em being ... read more
I have NEVER been a fan of Ken Kaniff, the character has and always will annoy the shit out of me when listening to an Eminem album.
Anyways - DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH DUH GO GO GADGET DICK
This is the only Eminem album where I feel like I truly enjoy the content from start to finish and am fully invested in the fucked up world experience that Slim Shady wants me to be in. There are introspective and even sad tracks in If I Had and Rock Bottom that are pretty compelling, but the even better ... read more
This used to be my favorite Eminem album for a long time, but then I remembered how much god damn filler is in this album. There's the completely unecessary skits that go throughout the album, there's the completely weird and off putting tracks like Remember Me?, Kim and Amityville, and the album just doesn't have the same consistency of its predecessor.
Anyways - Stan is fucking brilliant.
There can be no doubt that tracks like Stan, Marshall Mathers, The Real Slim Shady, Bitch Please 2 and ... read more
This production is kind of insane, these lyrics are kind of insane, these features are kind of insane, the three song run from tracks 2-5 is kind of insane, the emotional peaks of Roses and Hey Mama are kind of insane. I fell in love with this album the first time I heard it, and it only grows on me with repeat listens. Where did this Kanye go??

I'm going to use the words of Anthony Fantano (he didn't use this on the 7 review but it's fitting also I'm paraphrasing). I could tell you that I like this EP for what it is, or I could just tell you that I don't like it. I don't really care for this EP.

Space Bound is a really tender love song that I rep every time I'm feeling down or frankly every time I'm feeling in a good mood, and Love the Way You Lie has an infectious hook and some pretty powerful bars from Em.
And then there's the other fifteen tracks.
P!nk continues to annoy the crap out of me on Won't Back Down, Talkin' 2 Myself has lyrics that absolutely do nothing more than piss me off every time I listen to them (No Em, I will NOT forgive you for Relapse and Encore), I am not a ... read more
Not gonna lie, I'm a much much much bigger fan of Young Sinatra and Young Sinatra: Undeniable than I am of this mixtape over here. For one, I feel like this album gets a little less creative in terms of beats and in terms of subject matters. The overall objective quality of each track feels like it's increased, which is a nicer way of saying that Logic got a much bigger budget.
Don't get me wrong though, I still like this mixtape. I think tracks like 5AM and Ballin are really fun to listen ... read more
Let me put it this way, thank God that I have a friend who bugged me to listen to this album because I probably would not be here after The Hybrid, at least not for a while.
What really makes this album so interesting is that I would say Danny consistently changes up his sound from track to track. From the really disconnected at trippy Downward Spiral to the somber but still weird Tell Me What I Don't Know, these moments are diverse as fuck and they all work.
To start with negatives really ... read more
I just want to put it out there, I like Blurryface for what it is a whole hell of a lot. There are plenty of songs on there that were some of the first songs I ever listened to, and I overall just enjoy the music and messages on that album. I was floored by how much this one stacks up against it.
Jumpsuit and Neon Gravestones are two tracks that I want to shout out right off the top. I think both of them are very lyrically powerful, have pretty insane production, and have some pretty heart ... read more
The Hybrid is the type of album that never sticks with me even with like eight repeat listens, so I'm giving up and listening to Atrocity Exhibition.

My Eminem album rankings have changed a WHOLE lot since I started listening two years ago, and this has consistently been my third favorite throughout the flocculation of said rankings.
There are a few tracks that I think are among Em's worst. Berzerk, Stronger Than I Was and So Much Better all features Em's singing voice which is... It's something.
There are also a few tracks that are some of Em's best. I really fuck with the song Headlights on a very personal level, not gonna get into why, ... read more
So this 2 Chainz album may not be the best, but after Dope Don't Sell Itself I'm just thanking the fucking stars that 2 Chainz released something of this quality before absolutely falling off of the face of planet Earth.
So the bangers on this thing are pretty limited. I love Lil Wayne's verse on Money Maker and I think he and Chainz complement each other well, I love the NBA YoungBoy feature on Save Me as well, I think his verse communicates a lot of passion and does the song a lot of good, ... read more
You know, this album has kinda grown on me.
Sure it's a pretty bland expression of pop and rap in the long run, but I still find Twenty One Pilots to have a pretty nice amount of charm and energy to them, and I do genuinely enjoy some of their songs. Stressed Out and Ride are two examples of songs that I fell in love with pretty quickly albeit years ago when I initially listened to them, songs like Tear In My Heart have grown on me with repeat listens, and I do like some of the quick flows in ... read more
C'mon it's not that bad... Certainly much much better than OK ORCHESTRA. That fucking Orchestra WISHES it was just OK.
Often shit upon 21 Pilots rip off AJR released what is in my opinion their best album three years ago with Neotheater. Granted, there are some pretty embarrassing cuts on this thing. The Entertainment's here was very well put by Anthony Fantano as a song that Eminem would have made if nothing bad had happened to him ever, Beats is a fucking embarrassing song basically begging ... read more
Pusha T feels like the kinda rapper you'd always want to be on the good side of. Like, I would never ever ever want to be enemies with Pusha T. It just seems like a bad idea.
Diet Coke, Call My Bluff and I Pray For You are truthfully the only tracks that bother me, with the three of them featuring my least favorite production on the album, although they all still remain lyrically strong.
The features on this album are all around amazing with great performances from Jay-Z, Pharrell, Kanye on ... read more
I'll be honest, I wasn't especially hot on this album when it initially came out, but it grew on me pretty quickly.
In some ways this feels like Tyler's fucked up continuation of IGOR, with tracks like CORSO and SWEET / I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE focusing on either the same or a different relationship from IGOR, but presenting a far more confident and braggadocious version of Tyler.
And frankly those two words describe this album pretty well. Confidence and Braggadocio are the bread and ... read more
This album is a charisma MACHINE.
It loses a bit of its swagger in the last leg with Skate and Blast Off being a little underwhelming, but for the vast majority of the other tracks, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak are bathing in a jazzy brass band sound that is working to absolute perfection.
Smokin out the Window has a bitter annoyance to it that is played out perfectly, I love the swagger of Fly As Me, and the cool “After Last Night” works well as a slow jam.
Silk Sonic Intro ... read more
God DAMN, I was very surprised at how much I loved this album.
So I had listened to 1999 a couple times before, and while I certainly liked that mixtape I didn't think it was anything to get particularly excited about. The style of the beats and the sampling was just either not a style that was for me, or a style that would take quite a few listens to appreciate the quality of.
This album here was an album that I instantly fell in love with. Good Morning Amerikkka starts with one of the many ... read more
Here are the two main reasons that this album doesn't fully work.
1. This album wants you to believe it's a lot more self important than it is. Sure, tracks like Pray For Me have a certain message to them, and there are tracks like the title track that skew on the slower side, but this album has more to offer in the way of conventional bangers than it does any sort of message.
2. This album has absolutely fucking nothing to do with Black Panther. I don't really know why it's associated with ... read more
This is WAAAY better than all the other Eminem shit I've reviewed on my account thus far.
This album does have its share of duds (Those Kinda Nights, Stepdad, Marsh) but for the most part Eminem keeps the corniness to a minimum and the good lyrics on the forefront.
The best tracks are Darkness, which sees Em putting himself in the perspective of a concert shooter, Leaving Heaven which sees Eminem REALLY releasing some anger at his deadbeat dad, Godzilla which has by far the fastest flows on ... read more
