Deliciously melodic and expertly arranged, Sigur Rós'sophmore release is one of the best ways to get into post-rock. Not as daunting or sometimes foreboding as other albums in the genre to new listeners, it sweeps you up in its atmosphere. Crushing, haunting, beautiful, moving, perfect.

A uniquely compelling listen that is a far departure from the ground established by the band. With tight instrumentation and a smart sense of constraint, this albums makes itself stick out in a great way. This was a strong note for the band send off on. While far removed from their emo legend roots, the catchy indie pop crafted on this album leads to some fantastic moments, such as the one-two punch "Stop Playing Guitar"and "Suffer Never." Is it worth the wait? Yes. Could it be Brand New's best work to date? Possibly, give it a year to settle and then we'll know for sure. Is this a fitting end for the band if this is their last album? Yes, this is the best possible to end their career. Give it a few listens, it might not stick initially, but it WILL grow on you. Album of the Year so far for me.

This album is like nothing else, a vividly dark story, constant genre bending, and godly shredding of the guitar by Omar. While long, the only time it loses energy fully is during the forth track, Miranda. The only deterrent I think some would have is that a good part of the album is in Spanish. For me, this adds to the uniqueness of the album. Cassandra Gemini is one of my all time favorite songs, due to the ambition and sheer scale.
