It's messy and raw, but that only adds to the beauty of the album. Not a good intro to SDRE, but one of the strongest emo albums out there.
I felt obligated to listen due to it kind of being THE NB album, and I am very happy that I did. They absolutely killed it.
I really don't know how or what to feel, so I'm just not gonna touch the rating for a long ass time.
C'mon, it's the Get Up Kids at their best. Need I say more?
This album is short and sweet and to the point. It's somewhat of a shame that it doesn't stay for even a half hour, because the short amount of time it does spend is absolutely wonderful. Earnest pop-punk. Definitely makes the nights I spend crying due to dysphoria and fear much more bearable.
A far better critique of the current American political climate than its follow-up, in addition to just being better produced and played.
Good music + fucking God awful horseshit production = pretty good in the moment but overall just okay
Yeah, I really do think it's better than Definitely Maybe. If this was released as the third album for Oasis, Brit Pop would've survived much longer if you ask m.
Disappointing doesn't even begin to describe the anger and pain this abomination causes. Actually a disgrace and is single handedly the reason why I'll never do cocaine.
No wonder half of fourth-wave emo is just a rip off of these guys, they're so fucking good.
This album would be a 9 if not for Craig Owens' clean voice being so hard to listen to at times. The man can fucking scream so well. Regardless, it slaps when I'm in the right mood.
While I don't come back to this very often, I'd be lying to myself if I didn't rate it this highly. One of the best efforts third-wave emo has out there.
I would never expect this band to be good, but here we are. Don't listen to this album unless you're dying to hear where Brand New came from.
What could've been a decent album is ruined by the band not having the proper resources to execute on it. It's a shame really.
