Apart from the sludgy instrumental "The Swamp Song," there isn't a weak track here, and the brilliant moments are essential not only for Oasis fans, but any casual follower of Britpop or post-grunge rock & roll.

I’m afraid this compilation just isn’t enough to spark a renewed interest in these quickly fading toss-pots. Obviously, it’s much easier for Oasis to package shit as diamonds and chuck it out among the entertainment-starved rabble, rather than actually try and transcend the vacuum they’ve been writing songs in for so long.

Considering that this is a B sides LP, it is of an incredibly high standard and is probably their third best record. They always were a band that produced excellent B sides and this really highlights what an excellent band Oasis were at this stage of their career.

The Masterplan is an album of B sides from the singles upto its release meaning the majority are from the first two albums. It shows the quality of song writing during their initial years. This is seriously a collection of great songs many on a par with the single and in some case even better. There is nothing bad at all here, the instrumental is fine and I don't mind I am the Walrus and it's funny to me that it was recorded in the Cathouse of all places.
