could see a lot of people liking this, pretty guitar heavy. self-claimed to be reminiscent of title flight, which i can see. check it out

crazy as shit
another banger from sprain, probably my fav album so far this year
'margin for error' is an intense track which reminds me of those sensory art installations, which is insane to capture through my crappy headphones while digitally streaming. every layer of sound is purposefully crafted and creates an off-putting (in a good way) track. I'm not the type to often sit through a more than 10minute song, but 'margin of error' has to be one of their best songs to date,

pleasant enough to listen to but falls so flat. i dont think ill really return to anything.
so incredibly beautiful. elliott smith + some alex g sounds. amazing acoustic guitar (that layers so charmingly) and vocals to match.
i dont know what it is but i am really against the vocals on all the tracks so far ESPECIALLY on the slab. which is such a shame because i prefer the guitar on this one compared to the last 2. though as others have said it doesnt really feel like it goes anywhere. also to me the fadeout is at an odd time? like it just feels like a last second decision so they didnt have to write an ending?
im not the biggest fan of 2000's garage rock but the hives capture the sound really well. opens strong but loses a bit of momentum as it goes on due to the similar nature of the tracks. still has its good and exciting moments though
one of my new favourites by elliott, definitely looking forward to the album. i can have a problem with some of elliott's songs sounding overly repetitive, but i feel this single has some nice variety, especially in the vocals. guitar is great as usual.
i was so put off seeing “bb put on deftones” on the track list, but since i enjoyed the “wild heart” and “a different age” albums i thought i’d give “LOVE + POP” a go.. the vocals on here almost NEVER feel like they go with the song, the only time i feel the vocals make sense is on “moon sickness” and “i feel truth inside you”. this is not helped by the cringey lyrics, literally sound like they went thru some tiktok ... read more
an extremely fun dance-punk album from 70's western australia. repetitive, but still manages to capture that iconic early punk sound in every song (which is a huge guilty pleasure for me). vocals are fun and rebellious, and i love the guitar (which has a slight 60's charm?? reminds me of some kinks stuff). MUST check out for fans of early punk, ESPECIALLY australian punk. somewhat reminsant of black flag, germs, the saints, gang of four.

a couple forgettable tracks but makes up for it with some really strong ones. the self produced sound creates heaps of charm, especially on the heavier songs like "coven of the undead witches". highly recommend, looking forward to see more from the band, with such a strong start on their first album. there's a few different genres on this, some more heavy, shoegazy, punk sounds, mixed with a few slowcore-esc tracks like "it'll be better off this way" or "after ... read more
super fun listen coming in at just 12min 30sec, so even if u think this is the worst album u have ever listened to I think u will survive
in a room7 is FANTASTIC!!! it creates such a weird feeling for me, like being trapped in an electronic void. everything else is good, just doesn't stand out as much.
definitely not as good as their last single but i still enjoyed it, i think,,..,
definitely a step up from "kisses", but still (for me) devastatingly falls flat. could definitely hear this song on the radio, which isn't a bad thing but would love to hear more of that early slowdive uniqueness. the guitar helps it feel less flat than previously mentioned kisses, but i dont really connect with the vocals. still staying hopeful for the final album release though </3
this feels so stupid to type out but the "yeah, yeah" sections add sooooo much. super sweet listen, i need to get more into faye webster's discography forsure!
not exactly my type of music, but still really beautiful nonetheless. some great moments with the guitar, especially on scapegoat. definitely worth a listen especially considering the state of the world right now.
