I don't even have words for the cinematic experience that was this album. like just speechless.
it truly is like a whole movie; hayden takes the listener on an insane journey, even without the context of the story/character behind the work. the lyricism is just on another level with the way that each line really paints a picture in your mind. in "A House in Nebraska" you really end up feeling like you go to the house that ethel imagines for herself & willoughby. don't ... read more
we’re so back. Kevin’s is genuinely just a creative genius I’ll never get tired of his vision. and I’ve been introduced to sm new artists that are doing some of the most interesting things in the industry rn (lovespells is INSANE) through kevin, through solo projects and blush. love love love everything about this and can’t wait for pt 2
finally listened to this front to back, idk why I haven’t yet when some of my favorite songs from the marías are from this album (all I really want is you, fog as a bullet). great debut album imo, it was fun to come back to this as a long time fan and see how their sound has evolved and how MY tastes have changed when it comes to which songs I liked better. one thing I missed on submarine was Josh’s vocals so it was nice to hear him again!
