Honestly I wish I liked this as a whole more than I do because Don't Stop Me Now was the song that basically got me into music and remains one of my fav songs of all time even now but a lot of this album just isn't very good. Granted the only song I'd call bad is Mustapha, with all of it's (correct me if I'm wrong) stupid gibberish but there is still quite a lot of filler on this.

If You Can't Beat Them is really boring outside of one super solid hook, same with Let Me Entertain You. In Only ... read more

Going Slightly Mad with Queen (episode 7: Acquiring a Taste for Freeform Jazz)

I was excited to get into this album, cause this one has basically all of my favorite smash hits from the band ("Fat Bottomed Girls", "Bicycle Race" & "Dont Stop Me Now"), so I was curious to see what the deep cuts of this album would provide. Taking the central ideas of News of the World up to 11, Jazz ends up being a disparate effort that critics didn't understand at all. How this album is facist? I don't fuking now, but what I know is that Jazz is such a fun listen.
And it's also something you shouldn't take too seriously, and that's set clear on the opener Mustapha. A joke essentially, but it sets the mood of the album perfectly, and those Ibrahim's and Allah's will keep sounding on your head after the album finishes wheter you ... read more
