imagine me sensing that everyone else at my workplace is crazy stressed out and losing their minds, and I'm just in my office typing on my little computer GROOOOOOVING to this
I'm Nicholson nodding. This is what I crave when I seek out punk/garage/hardcore
Discovering this one back in the day was like finding hidden treasure, re-discovering it now all these years later feels the same way. How can you be so chill with the bass like that
My boy is just having a nice time. Really feel like all of this music is deep within him and needs to come out. I love Moondance but this one is really something special
chill grooves
I gotta say I have this on double vinyl and I have no idea which record is first, which side is A/B lol listening to this in random order every time and it's not a problem
There's that famous Robert Johnson story about how he sold his soul to the devil in exchange for guitar skills, but I remember hearing a rumor that Jimi Hendrix's handband was soaked in acid so he was just taking it straight to the dome and absolutely trippin out to another galaxy where he was probably vibing with the machine elves who instructed him on the ways of SHREDDING. The absolute best to ever do it (shredding)
ol' reliable San Diego icons, good hangout music with chill vibes and a little punk thrown in here and there. my culture.
Even with the culture taking a second look at Kanye due to his ongoing antics, I still feel like I'm going to get crucified for saying the same thing I always have. I like Kanye, Kanye's music is good. This album is great! It still feels like musical sacrilege to say anything less than "THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!! THE BEST TO EVER DO IT!!!!!! GENIUS PRODUCER!!!!!!" As if just thinking Kanye's music is pretty good, really good even, is a reflection of me not ... read more
Jay-Z is cool and has earned his right to flex on all of us, and he's so real it's honestly a little intimidating to hear him talk shit. My hottest take is that this album proves Kanye should've just been a producer
Unfortunately really only good when they're sticking with the classic folk/bluegrass that they do BETTER THAN ANYONE, I respect the rock-ish experiments but it doesn't work
Beautiful and timeless, which is saying a lot given the era in which it was recorded and released. The instrumental tracks, especially Ode to a Butterfly, are incredible, and the tracks with vocals are sweet and emotional (The Lighthouse's Tale gets plenty of attention but I love Out of the Woods, and The Fox is just plain stomping fun)
Lovely voice, chill songs, simple and effective, I liked some of the tracks that were more than just vocals+guitar.
So chill, the perfect marriage of jazz and hip hop, Buggin' Out is so good, the track title "Vibes and Stuff" might as well define their whole sound, literally find me someone somewhere who couldn't kick back and relax with this album
chicks rock. "proto punk" is right. sometimes I experience art and think "I could do that" even though I can't because she already did it. but I take that as inspiration.
So fun! One of my favorite releases of the last few years, especially in the realm of dance-able bops
I know this is most notable for its context as Paul's Beatles breakup album, the manner in which it was recorded and released, but I think it's more interesting how much love for Linda McCartney is vibrating through this. Paul's solo beginnings was fueled by a beautiful love story. I'm amazed.
