(hey guys, i'm basically done with AOTY. if you want to contact me check my bio at the bottom i think.)
this album was so awesome, check out the track 'Absolve' if you had to give something a spin to give this a chance. i'm not behind the scenes with the music here, this is just something my friends had made, which i unironically checked their music out before who i knew who 4lan was, and i wasn't in-touch with Elijah Core by then, like it once was i guess.

serviceable 'ear-candy', driven by rapid flows & catchy hooks. initially high-energy before intentionally draining out within the closing acts, completing with the strongest standouts in his discography.
PlaqueBoyMax is someone i knew long before his time as a 'FaZe Clan' member and his full-blown rap switch, following him during Yeat's '2 Alivë' album release in 2021, (even if i didn't really like the music during this time). overtime my taste ... read more
Westside Gunn drops a surprise double single, with an intro instrumental although that doesn’t matter. the tracks are even low standards for Westside Gunn himself. i’ve personally rated these new releases high, (there isn’t any reviews yet), as i’ve enjoyed these projects a lot containing impressive replay value and consistency within the sequencing.
these songs honestly sound like leftovers from ‘12’ with their poor repetitive production and Westside ... read more
two of my favourite artists collab, but it was an odd link up and yeat’s implementation in the song feels abrupt. i prefer the original, but it’s not significant enough to change the score for me
a chaotic yet soothing experience, feeling compact but constantly filled with grainy noise and glistening night-time sounds, illustrated with his trademark sample-heavy creative spark, that he always seems to bring to the table.
my first impressions of JPEGMAFIA weren’t too positive, but overtime they shifted. i first heard ‘SCARING THE HOES’ around release, i honestly wasn’t much of a fan, but his music definitely grew on me! in winter ‘24, i had some ... read more
passable & fun underground rap, feature a cohesive soundscape and theme across the album. very bit-sized for a project, but i enjoyed it!

Intro [75], The Imminence of Death [75], Goldprint [72], Dikembe Rip [75], Sew the Seams [72], Head of Boukman [72], Love Remains [78], Outro [78]
honestly was looking forward to the next ‘Q THA HERO’ project, although this was underwhelming, especially compared to his last ep.
some of these samples get repetitive, and the rapping drowns under the production usually.
but i did enjoy this regardless, and thought it was a good ep!

imminent threat [75], keep it cool [72], ex nihilo/nihil fit [75], Small World [72]
I Didn't Mean To Haunt You is an ambitious masterpiece, featuring a hidden narrative and an eerie soundscape to complete it.
following from his also-challenging From Me To You, he cuts out the corny ‘white rapper’ stylistic choices, condensing the material down and releasing this transformational experience through the ‘in-between’. tracks ‘sorry4dying’ and ‘tell me a joke’ display the environment best, capturing the haunting sound ... read more
holy sh*t this project has already surpassed expectations.
this song is so polished, musically speaking the best material i’ve ever heard from these two. even if i enjoy some cuts off Serein more, like this quality is unmatched.
that second half is generational, everything feels so complete here and i doubt i would bat an eye if anyone played this and told me it was a near-mainstream artist.
idk bruh i could speak about so much but i’m actually gassed. i hope you’re not ... read more
this is awesome but i want the build ups back that we had on the first double single, and the second one is too interlude, but the shoe gaze switch was dope
haven’t listened to him since ‘AN AUTHOR’S DEMISE’, but i did spin this and it felt like a standout to give a review.
i love the jazz influence on these tracks, and the narrative within the second track. i just feel like there isn’t a lot he can do with this style at this point, want something different and refreshing.
‘FLARE’ merges all of ‘Tyler, The Creator’s albums into one cohesive project, outclassing ’DON’T TAP THE GLASS’ from earlier this year musically speaking.
Tyler’s influence is undeniable with Chromakopia-inspired chanting throughout, to ‘FACE’ sonically being an alternate timeline to ‘OKAGA, CA’, and Jamba seemingly borrowed by ‘SHIRLEY TEMPLE’ production-wise.
my only issues arise with the slow start of the ... read more
Headed for Destruction is an overhated, rejected album with a night-time song palette and a subtle heartbreak story within, but occasionally stepping away from that with highlights like Wanted & Betrayed. the album honestly sounds abandoned halfway through production, which could explain the 'demo' rebrand later on with its total 15-minute runtime. the songs sound unpolished and tacky, although i've relistened to the music quite a lot still. overall, it does feel like Elijah ... read more
Bad Cameo is a lush, yet tragic album sonically, influenced by really strange sources like Have A Nice Life. featuring a concise tracklist, it keeps a gentle, instrumental focus on most songs, giving them time to breathe following Yachty’s successful Let’s Start Here. occasional tracks like Twice, Woo & Transport Me are notable, however stand out for the wrong reasons...

COYOTE is a fun, ‘night-synthy’ soundscaped project featuring an overhated set of songs, but poor lyricism throughout the album…
“they call me Tommy ‘cause i’m tryna get rich, man. i’m not going to hell ‘cause that life’s a bitch, man.”
Tommy Richman first dropped this album back in 2024, proclaiming that he’s now an album artist. the project was very ambitious, but probably the first and only ambitious album i’ve heard ... read more
proof Joji still has it, just he decides to drop 1 minute long tracks for the love of the game

Son Of Spergy is Daniel Caesar’s most personal album to date, whilst being his most ambitious and consistent project yet. i love this album A LOT, as it's based on my two favourite themes an album can have; being about religion and relationships. the tracklist is sequenced beautifully, featuring tons of fully developed songs, with Baby Blue and Moon being the best examples. unlike his other work, most of these songs evolve through multiple phases as they go on. the album experience ... read more
