Like his previous album, All 4 Nothing is filled with repetitive songs. And even though some of them have an interesting instrumental like Summer Nights, Lauv still manages to downgrade it by bland and beyond-mediocre lyrics. All of these songs are kinda short but I just can't help but skip after listening to half of it. As bad as it is, somewhere in the album there are songs that are quite touching, sincere, and without fake deep lyrics.
Fav: 26, All 4 Nothing, Hey Ari, First Grade
the lyrics are unusually simple and the structure is not quite significant but the song is still catchy af.
still the best album lauv has ever released and one of the best pop albums in the late 2010s
after 4 or 5 times trying to listen to the song, it became more listenable but I can't still understand what matty sang about. the lyrics are decent and horrible at the same time.
edit: after listening to Happiness and 20 times listening to POTB => POTB > Happiness
musically I like it more than Fine Line but lyrically it's just getting worse.
From 2 to 3 is up there with Being so Normal to be Peach Pit's best work. I accidentally listened to their first album on a shitty day and it was able to brighten up my day a little bit. From 2 to 3 did the same thing. It's mellow, catchy, joyful kind of mood-lifting. all the songs sound kinda the same but the first half of the album is still enjoyable.
fav.: Up Granville, Vickie, Pepsi on the house, Look Out!, From 2 to 3
not something new but it's more interesting than his debut album and i kinda like pop- rock pop punk influence songs on this album. i hope he'll make more of projects like these instead of amount of chill laid- back mellow songs which he's already done over last 3 or 4 years.
fav tracks: i-70, deep end, therapist, 18, no one hates you ( like i do)
