I am not really a fan of jakey's work on youtube, not because I find something wrong with it just never got into it. So I was interested behind the hype behind this project especially after learning that this was in the works for quite some time.
Look, I believe that a project should be able to stand on its feet whether you like the person behind it or not. I don't like this, this is a big no no. It sounds like basic pop music without a solid hook, messy production and some sampling that's mostly used for references instead of actually giving the project extra depth. The lyrics are probably the best part about the project but in all honesty, altho they can paint a picture that picture itself isn't that appealing or detailed at least to me. The production choices can be really questionable and don't really add any dimension, like why does Tommy Hanks have this high pitched vocal for the entirety of the runtime or why does the every song here sound like it's been dumped in bleach with how saturated and somehow dull the sounds are, especially that ugly sub bass on reeboks or the nikes. Jakey as a presence is lacking, bro couldn't sound more bored and when he does get more dramatic it does nothing for me.
This project sounds like something that was in the making for a long time, but not because he wanted to get out the best possible result but because he didn't know what the fuck to do with it for years and completed it last minute. Some people are really into it which is cool but for me it's a fat no, if he continues the same lane I don't think I'll follow along.
