That show me that phone song aged so poorly cuz I don't think he wanna show his phone and DMs anymore.

When I was young, the guys in my class always talk about some weird, pornographic stuff.

The writing on here reminds me of those conversations. The incredibly juvenille view on women and sex. Just incredibly weird, awkward and not sexy at all. Adam isn't 14 though, but the way he and other members write is just urgh.

Maps and Sugar sounded worse than I remembered it. Ngl I don't mind these ... read more

Maroon 5 - Overexposed

Worst thing I've heard? No. But this is incredibly soulless compared to their debut and sophomore. Hands All Over was painful, but Overexposed managed to be worse.

To be quite frank, I never thought highly of Payphone or One More Night as I found them both to be corny even for its time. Now, imagine those two songs but with somehow even more abysmal writing, bland vocal delivery and horribly aged early 2010s pop.

If it pays the bill and if the band members are happy with this direction, I ... read more

Friko - Where we've been, Where we go from here

Pretty decent. I think it was all over the place which is pretty nice for a debut album, so they can explore what works and what does not. Handful of songs feel very familiar as they feel like something I've heard being done before by their contemporaries Arcade Fire, Sufjan Stevens and Spiritualized.

Don't get me wrong, I think there are a couple of incredibly strong songs that I really enjoy like For Ella and Chemical and reminding me of big names is a big feat in itself. However, I think ... read more

Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See

Hope Sandoval and this album influence on dream pop and slowcore can still be felt today, especially her singing and delivery style. Still as incredible as I remember it, even though I'm not as crazy about it as I used to be as a teen. Being able to appreciate a lot of psychedelic rock and blues influence with the guitar riffs as someone who has listened to more music makes returning to this really worthwhile as well.
Hurray for the Riff Raff - The Past Is Still Alive

First time listening to Hurray for the Riff Raff projects. The vocalist's voice reminds me a lot of Cat Power. The album is filled with many solid songs. There's this melancholic undertone and a lot of queer love writing that I am a sucker for on here. They did not reinvent the wheel or anything, but Segarra really leave an impression on me and I might check out their other works.

The voice memo from their dad at the end was funny.

No problem! I appreciate your time and your inclusion. I forgot about how many hard hitting tracks are on deathconsciousness. Welcome to the banger hall of fame: https://www.albumoftheyear.org/user/treadcarefully/list/160788/aotys-hardest-hitting-bangers-imaginable/

Hi Tash,

For 400 followers, I wanted to finalized a series of community lists that I've compiled this year as a trilogy. The last two lists focused on lyrics and how they affect human emotions and responses. For this last list, I wanted to emphasized more on production. With that being said, let me ask you one simple, but hard question: What is the greatest banger you ever heard in your entire life?

Hey there tash! I wanted to redo my review of an album that means a lot to me. It truly made my output on music different and caused me to look at things in a different light. It’s helped me through some really tough times, and it's very dear to me. It would make my day if you could give it a look!

Paleblooded and I listen to music and vibe! Check their reviews!

Scores are in multiple of 5. I find it easier as "not all 7s are equal" sorta deal. Completely subjective and very bias.

55 to 100 signifies how much I enjoy the album
50 is mid
45 to 0 signifies how much I dislike the album

A lot of my 100s are my favourite albums. They aren't necessarily perfect, but I hold them to high regards.

TY for dropping by!
