With the limitations of a three piece band in the modern day, Khruangbin exceeds expectations and make complete use of all their resources. For the most part laidback, calm and enjoyable. The songs you end up enjoying on the album are probably going to be the ones friends have put on at certain events, and the song will then remind you of that time. Its a simple album and August 10 often makes me feel nostalgic for the days out in the sun at the park with my friends. Khruangbin's Con Todo El ... read more
Fantastic record. I could use countless adjectives but in the end I don't think anyone really knows why they love OPN so much. Love the medieval cinematic sound that is introduced in the beginning and reappears towards the end. Love the chaos of Warning and We'll Take It. Love the chord progression and harmonies of Toys 2 and The Station. Lopatin does dive into using his voice on this record and I've gotta say that I was not so fond of it on Babylon, despite James Blake helping Lopatin on the ... read more

Family Portrait moves away from a dance perspective and instead ... read more
Surprise album MEGA is Blank Banshee sounding more like Blank Banshee than ever, but this doesn't work too well in his favour. Its hard to listen to MEGA without comparing it to the "legendary" Blank Banshee 0 album that everyone even outside of vaporwave seem to enjoy at least in some ways, and this comes with consequences. MEGA feels less focused, as if he has figured out the theory for making his fans happy. He'll fit in an obscure amount of diverse samples into an everchanging ... read more
The "Godfather of Punk" Jonathan Richman and his band the Modern Lovers prove that the only reason this album is rated so highly is because of who it influenced and not for what it is itself. The strong influences of The Doors and The Velvet Underground are apparent on the album, Especially due to the fact that John Cale produced most of the tracks on the album, but I cannot help being annoyed at the how similar Richman at times can sound like Lou Reed. Many people praise this album ... read more
