Found this... I think indie band (???) thanks to YT Music's whole, like, autoplay the most niche things ever so I am now dedicating to documents everything about these dudes cause their music is fantastic lol
I'm going to be completely honest, I understand the hate AJR gets completely. Their writing is cornier than almost anything else you can possibly find in music as a whole (excusing shitty political hiphop). But when I say that I genuinely love this record, I truly do, and I feel I always will. Their production for so many of the tracks on here is just... magical, and, I don't feel that it's overproduced, partly due to everything here serving some kind of purpose to perpetuate ... read more
"'Awaken, My Love!'" is Childish Gambino (also known as Donald Glover)'s third studio album and is by far one of his most cohesive projects to date. The psychedelic, soul and funk inspired record draws ties from common music of the mid 70's which has been ever more popularized in its resurgence during the common era of the 2010's to 2025. Though some tracks tend to fall short, the lively and vibrant vocals by far make up for any lackluster points that may ... read more
I have decided that today will be the day that I finally sit down, not only writing my first REAL review of an album but also review a Radiohead album.
In all its electronic, experimental and paranoid glory, English rock band Radiohead's third studio project OK Computer is a modern-day masterpiece; far ahead of its time. In a scene that at the time was laced with Hip-hop as well as massive hits by a current day standard, few albums really saw light like OK Computer. This Alternative Rock ... read more
Casually rating it for a friend!
DIESEL:
Overall an incredibly solid intro track, love that first transition and it sets up and very alt metal feel that carries really well into track 2 8/10
Revolver:
Really enjoyable! Loving the bit more relaxed tone especially coming off of DIESEL. Also that use of pads is magicalllllll. OMG THAT ENDING YESSSSSS 10/10
Silver Swarm:
Not a massive of the front half, always had some beef with electronic drums and echoey vocals; but the the back half... those ... read more
Im on a Tally Hall run now lol
For what it's worth, they're second tracks always hit harder than 4x4's on the highway, & I'm here for it. Personally, it's not much better than their first, but at some points it does improve. & honestly, I'm not mad, the hit or miss nature is gone here, just some tracks fall completely flat.
Favorites: &, Cannibal, A Lady, The Trap, Fate of the Stars
Least favorites: Who You Are, You
P.S.: There's a combo track ... read more
Given this album a good couple of listens over the past year or two, trying to make more reviews so here we go!!!
Oh Tally Hall... oh, Tally Hall. What a quirky set of characters making such a quirky ah album. No but seriously, this album is so hit and kiss it's hard to not skip some of the tracks. In saying that, that same double edged sword also has some of my favorite rock fusion tracks I've ever hear like "Greener" and "Taken for a Ride." Not a fan fo the ... read more
My return to AOTY!!!
Short album review: Razzmatazz (IDKHOW)
I'm a massive fan of pretty much all of Dallon's work and this is no exception in the slightest. After the magical EP: 1981 Extended Play, IDKHOW's first official album is a genuinely stunning project thats left me starstruck. Some of the tracks here a tad repetitive, but even despite that, some of these are 100% his best works with others like I Will, Tonight and Bleed Magic. Beautiful work Dallon, and good luck with ... read more
What an awesome comeback for Phoneboy! Not only are they riding high on 2 phenomenal albums but now they have one of my favorite singles onf the year under wraps :D !!! Good job yal, can't wait to see yal on tour if yal do :]
I would like to go on record to say this: at the moment, Heaven Head, whoever they may be, is a talented artist and I'm quite sad they get almost no recognition. 'Heaven' is a 37-minute-long LP that consists of 15 tracks and is also a very emotional and ambience driven project, and for what it's worth, this is... really fantastic! For a lot of this project, it almost feels as if I'm floating through a field of red grass across an early-dawn horizon line.
Today I had ... read more
I decided to revisit this album after so long after hearing it. When i was 5 years old, I remember falling asleep to this album and being so sad when it reached the end because I knew it wouldnt repeat and i would have to fall asleep in the dark. This album is a core memory of my childhood and it forever will be a perfect project in my eyes. Love ya Jack, hope you're doing wonderful.
I don't think I've had as much resonation with an album as I do with Kendrick Lamar's Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers. Not only did a handful of the tracks make me cry, but they are so deep and so full of emotion and love. Kendrick is the best artist of not only our generation, but dare I say of all time. I can't wait for his next project, and may his soul forever live on in the next generations that continue before us.
To Pimp a Butterfly needs no introduction; nor does it need an explanation to how beautiful of a record it is. It is the best album to ever be released, no questions asked. Congrats Kendrick, you made a masterpiece.
After sitting through, actually no, after enjoying the HELL out of this project with a friend I can confidently say that this is one of the best projects I've ever listened to. Wether it be of all time, from Tyler himself or in general, this album is perfect to the last minute detail (excusing I Don't Love You Anymore cause personally it doesn't click like the rest but still works perfectly for the album and is sonically correct), This project is timeless and i hope to see ... read more
Despite being shredded due to them sounding so much like the Beastie Boys on this first EP, I think this was the start of something awesome: that being JVB, and all the tracks hit hard af
Just like Punk Tactics: it's an insanely fun album and is just as good, if not better, than PT
