When I searched this album up on here, I'm not entirely sure why, but I was already expecting one or two reviews. Maybe even a handful of ratings. So, when I realised I would be the first, not only, to rate, but also to review, my heart sank ever-so-slightly. This is a purely self-indulgent review, and a purely self-indulgent listen, as well. I've looped this album more times than I care to admit (if I were to count the amount of tears I've shed listening to it, it would probably get me locked up. Not one single person can prove this album doesn't live in my headphones, and/or wasn't made to be heard through my headphones, and my headphones alone. Not one single soul can ever tell me that this isn't one of Mount Eerie's best albums, even though all their past projects have either made me want to brutally kill myself in front of an entire audience, in the most vile and visceral way possible or, write the most sinister, cannibalistic and bird-eating poetry ever. (I wasn't going to write anymore reviews today, but I remembered this album exists, and now I have to for my own sake and for the sake of my very good buddy Michael Gira, who did a fantastic job at explaining why he ate his wife).
