Far from his best, and far from what you would want a solo Drake album to be after his tumultuous past couple of years, ICEMAN delivers an experience that is superior to many previous Drake albums despite many flaws. ICEMAN sees Drake return to a consistent record of rapping smooth flows over interesting beats instead of satisfying a brainless R&B persona, which makes this album a lot less painful to listen to than many pervious ones, especially $$$4U. However, considering this album at the ... read more
'Distracted' by Thundercat is arguably a symbol for the artist's general production-style, and its emphasis here is executed so well. The atmosphere of this project fits a distracted vibe immensely, being littered with various experimental strings and ethereal elements that reflects travelling around your own mental. The opening track introduces this brilliantly, with the following tracks, mostly the first half, starting strong with bold sound choices and incredible features. ... read more
'Theft World' is a fantastic record that encapsulates punky rebellion, while also delivering production that outstands many other artists similar in the genre, particularly in the relationship between drums and vocals. This album was my first impression of the band, and immediately it was Kaser's vocals that took front stage in this impressive project. He really blends the elements of metal, punk rock, and experimental rap expertly. Production is simply incredible, particularly ... read more
Ye has made his first good album in 5 years since Donda in 2021. Although this is nice and refreshing to see, BULLY is still littered with inconsistencies and laziness despite it being an enjoyable listen. First off, 'KING' is a great opening track. It introduces you to the soul-sampling nature of the album, the general *great* production (which Ye will never lose), and the fact that the album actually contains real vocals. Although real vocals are still preferable to AI, Ye's ... read more
This is my first impression of Westside Cowboy, and I will definitely keep an eye on them in the future. This is such an easy listen, a super-fun, punky, and extremely heartfelt EP that is so nice to pick up and listen to. The lead singers are simply incredible, and I love the dual vocals found here, it really brings the sensuality into this EP. The opening track's slow instrumental build-up was the ultimate introduction to the band for me, and I just adore how meticulous this project has ... read more
