Starting over is certainly a standout, the rest of the songs are quite good just... nothing too special to me unfortunately.
Was listening to chan chan and decided to listen to the whole album... absolutely not disappointed. Don't listen to anything else of the genre, but probably should because this was really quite marvelous. Found myself embarassingly salsa-ing my way through the library, not an enviable position.
While genuinely amazing, this album is so widely regarded I maybe fell prey to my expectations a little. Some of the songs, whilst by absolutely no means unremarkable, just... didn't quite resonate with me emotionally as much as I might've liked. Enjoy the silence will however remain as one of my favourite songs OAT.
Really a beautifully dreamy album, truly encapsulates the album name. Tad unbalanced I feel as a couple songs fell a little short, but some songs I absolutely adore on here; notably diving woman, one of my favourite songs from the past couple months.
Dreamy, calming. I really love how the drums feel surprisingly strong and guitars occasionally just harsh enough to complement the otherwise tranquil vocals and ambiance. Feels like lying down on an isolated field under an expanse of stars.
Pretty incredible ambient shoegaze, lethargic yet dynamic. Something I can easily relisten to as a whole
Loads of super enjoyable funky sounds repeating to no end, creating a very cohesive ensemble; but a couple of the tracks towards the 2nd half just seemed to be lacking a tad compared to the first 7ish tracks.
