Groovy Kaiju - Monster Tape Zero

Gave into the insta ads and bought this guys album, and I’m glad I did. This is a super fun listen, well worth the 14 bucks.

Wow, this is a lot more underwhelming than I expected... I don't even have anything to really say other than the lyrics are bizarre and the mixing is ass.

Gengivas Negras - Conforto

I love finding weird underground music not many people have heard so much, even more so when it genuinely blows me away. I can't believe some duo from Curitiba, Brazil made such an incredible harsh noise/industrial album and somehow barely anyone knows about it. Thank you to the YouTube channel Free Forgotten Music for somehow landing on my recommended page and introducing me to this incredible album. I also love the fact that there is someone out there who is spreading underground and ... read more

USHER - COMING HOME

Well this is something. It exists. I don't think I could possibly say anything more than that.

Machine Girl - WLFGRL

Back in 2015 I randomly came across this album way late at night when scrolling through Youtube. It scared tired little 9-year old me so badly I couldn't sleep. I finally found and listened to this album years later, and it still scared me shitless. 9/10

Oh god what the actual FUCK is this and why does it exist????

The Smile - Wall of Eyes

On one hand, not a new Radiohead album, on the other hand, I don't care this is great. Even though it sounds formulaic and similar to previous projects Thom and Johnny have worked on it sounds incredible and I love it.

My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade

It's been 5 months since my last review!? Damn, depression really does make you forget time exists…

Well since I've more or less bounced back from a really long depressive episode I might as well start regularly listening to and reviewing albums with the band I have listened to the most in the last few months, My Chemical Romance.

Holy. Shit.

I am so disappointed in myself for never actually giving MCR a chance when I was younger, this is incredible! I had always been one of those ... read more

My GOD this album is incredible. Not many albums are able to be so unique and creative while simultaneously being amazing front to back. Even the frequent skits in between most songs add to the vibe and feel of this album. This feels less like an album and more like a beautiful cyberpunk dystopian movie and I love that.

The Dayside - Walking in the Shadows

I'm 100% biased since I go to school with most members of the band but this album is genuinely really good.

PLEASE go and listen to this album to support the band, they did a great job making this and deserve to get recognition.

The production is super impressive and the performance is beautiful and passionate. The highs of the album are super enjoyable and while there are some low point I didn't love the album overall is a blast to listen too. The Dayside did an incredible job with this and ... read more

Run The Jewels - RTJ4
95

This is one of the few albums I can say, with confidence, is perfect in every aspect.

Run the Jewels where able to surpass all of their previous albums with RTJ4. It feels like the combination about everything incredible about previous RTJ albums put together to make a magnum opus. Every aspect of this album feels so thought out and passionate. It's obvious that Killer Mike and El-P wanted to make an incredible album that let them voice their personal struggles while also speak out against ... read more

Nas - Magic 2

I went in expecting a good album but I was not expecting this to be the absolute banger that it is, I am pleasantly surprised. The beats, production, lyricism, and vocals are incredible across the album and everything on here ranges from enjoyable to astounding. No part of this album feels boring or dissatisfying and is a fun listen the entire time. Nas and Hit-Boy did a phenomenal job on this.

"Notice me Senpai" - El-P, 2016

Like all of Run the Jewels discog this album is incredible

Radiohead - The Bends
94

Even one of Radiohead's "weaker" albums is phenomenal.

The lows of this album are still very enjoyable and fun while the highs, especially Fake Plastic Trees and Street Spirit, are beyond incredible.

Run The Jewels - Run The Jewels 2

Run the Jewels first album felt like a good appetizer: short, highly enjoyable, and something that gives you a taste of what you might get later. RTJ2 is like a full course meal that includes your favorite food from an expensive 5 star restaurant. It's absolutely perfect in almost every aspect and completely unforgettable.

Killer Mike and El-P went above and beyond with this incredible album. I already know I will revisit RTJ2 a lot.

Mitski - Bury Me at Makeout Creek

This album is near perfection.

The title, artwork, instrumentals, singing, lyrics, all of it is beyond words. The only problem I have with this album is that it isn't longer. Everything on here resonates with me on a personal level in a way most other music can't every time I hear it and I just want more of it.

JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES: DLC PACK

All of these songs are great but I definitely see why this wasn't on Scaring the Hoes and was released separately, they wouldn't have fit anywhere on there.

12 RODS - If We Stayed Alive
77

If We Stayed Alive really sounds like 12 RODS earlier work, with a lot of these songs sounding like they could have been on their EP "Gay?". The reason is probably because most, maybe even all, of the songs on this album are actually demos from 12 RODS before they split that are re-recorded by Ryan Olcott. I think Olcott did a great job replicating the sound and feel 12 RODS had around the time they recorded Gay?, but this feels much more like a tease of what we could have gotten from ... read more
