every MUNA album has a solid handful of bangers - however, i don't find their deep cuts interesting or engaging. but that handful of bangers are usually really good so...

i saw the vision then - i see the vision now. delightfully all over the place and camp. i will die on the hill that 'cowboys' is one of slayyyter's greatest songs ever.

song-writing has always been kacey's superpower, and "middle of nowhere" is a welcome return to her tongue-in-cheek lyricism that made me fall in love with her early records. her voice is velvety smooth as always, and the production harkens back to the timeless country sound that founded her career.

not as immediately effective as snail mail's prior two albums, but i find this to still be quite enjoyable and melodic. the type of album you put on when you have a 40 minute commute to and from work. non-chalant - subdued yet pleasant.
the second half drops off in quality a smidgen, as the songs begin to blur for me. unfortunately, the production does sound "frustratingly anonymous" (to quote p4k). so i hope the next album will have another flavour beyond lindsey's tried ... read more
traces of a good album can be found. i think garbage alone proves that she can be a capable songwriter with interesting/dynamic production. but for some reason, the majority of these songs have whack lyrics with boring production.
these songs feel like demos almost? like the lyrics sound like first drafts and are either cringe, painfully on the nose or they simply do not flow. i wish i could overlook - because some of the songs sound nice...
