"Songs About Leaving" is a deeply personal and relatable album for me. It captures the essence of a difficult break up perfectly and oozes pain and beauty with every track. Xiu Xiu's latest release and 16th album overall ,"13" Frank Beltrame Italian Stiletto with Bison Horn Grips" is an incredibly easy listen for new Xiu Xiu fans to get into. It has a unique mixture of synths and real instruments with the percussive work by David Kendrick being a massive highlight. The dark atmospheres of "Girl with Basket of Fruit" are combined with the more upbeat sound of "Fabulous Muscles" making 13" a must listen to album.
