I love it. It's so mixed up, it's so beautiful, witty, dark, twisted, smooth, crazy, poppy, and honest. Love his unblinking honesty to an audience. It does feel a bit like vaudeville sincerity, but I am sure it is all true.
Wow, I love it. I'm not sure I have listened to the whole album front to back yet as I tend to hear a song and then just drown in it a bit. Then another and can't stop listening that way for a while. I'm really looking forward to as it will be an amazing experience hearing how it all links up. Not a 100% just because I'm not mad on Son of Nyx. It's so emotional and dark, and there are some moments where you think there can't be anything more beautiful set to music.
I've only been listening to this for 6 and a half days and I know it's not going to budge from 100. After loving Raw Data Feel so much, I didn't want to be shunted somewhere less interesting/challenging/enjoyable/perplexing/amazing, but I needn't have worried.
It's not as full of blips, beeps, cut up rhythms and sharp turns but it has loads of that stuff too, plus the same uncompromising lyrics and searchings for meaning and understanding (and givings up of doing so I think). It feels mellower ... read more
I loved In Birdsong, that was the only song I had for about a year (with a note to find out more) Then I did find out more, and first landed on the song Pizza Boy. That set off a big twang in the part of my brain that receives music, it just went straight in and was followed by a couple more from RDF, (Jennifer and Teletype) and then the whole album and then the whole album over and over.
