You could argue that the album sounds overproduced and a little "too clean" and I wouldn't disagree with it but I don't know, the melodies are very pretty and the songs are mostly incredibly catchy. I like this album quite a lot. It almost reminds me of modern Katatonia at times.
The album is a little too long, some songs really feel like filler songs (just a matter of personal taste in the end). Ultimately, I still think it's a very good R&B album. I'm glad they finally 'debuted' and I'm excited for what's to come, they're great.
I keep going back to it. I love this album so, so much.
'Darling, I', 'Take Your Mask Off', and 'Hey Jane' are among my very favourite songs of this year.
I'm sadly addicted to her TinyDesk performance so this album hits differently. I still like it quite a lot though, but I prefer her live performance(s) a lot more.
This album really grew on me over the months. It's just very pleasant to listen to. I like a lot of the melodies in there. I doubt it'll ever reach the level of high Atoma reaches but I like it a lot more than Moment. I'm glad.
Again, I grew up listening to this album. There's a lot of nostalgia tied to it. I don't love it anymore and I've only kept a few songs in my playlist but those songs I kept are songs I cherish a lot.
Grew up listening to this, looking back I don't think it's that great but I have very fond memories tied to this album. Where Are You is still my favourite B.o.B song.
My fav B.o.B project. Before everything turned to complete shit.
I go back to it quite often. There are songs in there I absolutely adore. It pretty much encapsulates why I loved this artist so much as a teenager.
The Emptiness Machine is still my favourite by far, sadly. I can't stand Heavy is the Crown because I watched the entirety of League's Worlds. Cut the Bridge is pretty cool, and I like the vibe Casualty is going for. I'm not really a fan of the rest of the album, the instrumentals are mostly good. I find Mike's parts to be pretty unequal and that makes me sad because I love listening to him. I'm not sold on Emily, don't really like her singing, her screaming is ... read more
The 'The Museum', 'Dream', 'Tunnel', 'A Song Nobody Knows' streak is just absolutely divine.
I'm a little disappointed with the album. I don't find it bad by any means but I was expecting so much more. Overall I find it 'okay' but way too safe sound-wise. Most prods sound too similar. XG is known to break girl groups' stereotypes, so ending up with "conventional" songs is a disappointment to me. I was expected a more rap-heavy album as well.
I don't even dislike the songs:
- I like Howling, I like its rap parts a lot and they somehow made howls ... read more
