An album that explores the complexity of intimacy in an industrialized society.
Depeche Mode was able to explore such a topic with the paring of synths and a more industrialized sound. To me this album sound colder in tone, ,which heightens the listening experience. Truly one of my favorites from them.
I think one of the biggest downfall for this project is the track length. It prevents many of ideas from being fleshed out effectively. It feels more like listening to interludes over actual songs. The soundscape was interesting but I loved the beautiful melodies over distorted beats.
A beautiful piece that is able to transcribe the feelings of deterioration caused by dementia. Truly makes you reflect on your morality and own memories.
Also one of the few pieces of music to make me cry.
