For some fucked up reason I thought this was mid the first listen through. But thankfully, once I got in a musical state-of-mind, I realized that this is probably AOTY. i despise the communities that indie animations foster, the tadc community genuinely makes me dislike the actual show just from the sheer cringe i associate with it now
rip wifi, crazy how its been a whole year since hes died. i didnt know about him until he had already been gone for a few months, but its just so hard to think about how a little more than a year ago he was alive and breathing. he had such potential
If these guys decided to do brutal prog and invest more into vocals they could genuinely rival black midi
I'm not gonna lie, I think I will always find this new Converge sound to be a downgrade.
Don't get me wrong, I still think this is a rather solid album from them, it's just that I drastically prefer the sound they had pre-AWLWLB. I think they've gotten too comfortable with this current style, so they just don't experiment nearly as much as they used to with prior albums, and that there's not that much variation instrumentally from track to track.
