REVIEW PER SONGS
Heya - 76
The MV almost got me thinking I like this song. Well I kinda like it actually, the chorus isn't my thing, but it overally sounds like a red RV song so... The bridge and preschorus are exquisite, the verses are okay. The composition feels rich like THEY WORKED ON IT, and it's a 3min+ song

A little tired of all these dnb beats flooding K-pop but it's mixed, I think it'll be a hit but I probably wont listen to it. No part I really like, lacks the ive ... read more
Way too much auto-tune for their own good, each track could have been way better without it. What a pity

It's always kind of hard to rate fairly purki's songs since their vocals make mid / bad songs sound good when most of them are total skips for me. There are always some good songs among the b-sides but it's more a 'decent' kind of good song rather than 'excellent' kind of good song, something is always lacking despite a lot of creativity, I really can't understand why. Even among the main tracks, it's rarely not good, but there's always a weird ... read more
One of her least acclaimed comeback and yet a very bold and unique one. It's for me a weird mix between a desire to escape the typical mainstream pop song and ending, with that repetitive English chorus, with an actual attempt to please a large audience and so compensate the confusion of ppl facing the manifeste weirdness of the song. But it's not a problem ! We love atypical, weird songs, it's rare in an industry where the trend is what the production team live for.
I personally love the beat ... read more
Wendy really doesn't have a sense for pop songs choruses because, why does the chorus of each song ruins it all. Especially in Vermillion, Wish you hell and His car isn't yours. These three songs have amazing verses, and btw I was sure to be on one of my favorite albums of the year hearing the melodies, the vocals in the teasers, but nothing prepared me for these mainstream choruses that take away all the rnb essence of the songs. In the way it's sung we're suddenly facing heavily pop choices ... read more
Nothing is a simple, yet well built and beautiful song but it's nothing compared to how big Midas Touch is.
It's not necessarily the most creative song you ever heard, I don't think we had that many sticking parts except this exquisite pres chorus sang amazingly by belle and haneul. I'm not kidding this part really impressed me, the vocals, the instrumental change, it's immaculately good. But on the other hand, the other parts, from the verses to the chorus, even that bridge everyone loves, ... read more
We probably all should be extremely happy Kiss of life is bringing a sense of creativity and originality in terms of musical concept and register, showing interest for heavily rich and symbolic musical styles like Philadelphia Soul (nobody knows being one of the very few soul (not as in rnb or neo soul) songs is K-pop). And i'm for sure very enthusiastic about it, but only when it comes to my own tastes. So I guess it's the same for other listeners and I think of it as a problem.

Her best tittle track to date, the prod is everything and the concept mind-blowingly executed!! That's a solid 90 for me. The b-side is very good as well, I feel something is missing but I can't tell in which part so, 86!
Probably a lot of problems in the mixing, the song remain cool and intense but could have been way more precised and rigorous in it's making. Is still extremely interesting to listen to when performed by Sunmi, as she did during her second world tour, it was a serve!
Extremely pleasing to listen to, very Sunmi printed but the dude's voice isn't really fitting and the song remain bland and very basic
An extremely good b-side (a total 100 and I have no hesitation to say it) and a very solid / catchy sunmi pop main track (86), we all say thank you to her!!
Really not her best album so far but lots of interesting songs, with very interesting topics and very pleasing melodies
I think I wouldn't be exaggerating to say I'm moved by how good this album is. Musically speaking it's so rich, the b-sides and title are, maybe except lucid which is a bit blander than the others, so creative. The search for atmosphere though musicality and different styles, tempos, is extensive and it shows. It's everything but a boring or redundant album to listen to despite its unity and cohesion. Every tracks feel right put together without sounding the same in any way.
