Honestly really disappointed, there’s a few good cuts but this just sounds like Apoptosis 2, so five years doesn’t feel worth it anymore.
Shaking Hands self titled debut is just solid. The guitar solos are phenomenal and there are some standout cuts like Sundance and Italics, but most of the songs are forgettable or just not memorable in the right ways.
Portland’s Alec Dukhart or more commonly known by his alias, Searows, returns with another atmospheric folk inspired record. Searows harnesses a grey-clouded, devastatingly haunting sound that navigates a storm-ridden sea of love and loss.
It took me a minute to get around to this record, it sat in my library for months waiting to be unearthed, and when I finally did I was not disappointed. This is such a powerful Americana record, rife with harrowing emotion, smooth guitars, and phenomenal lyricism. Goodman did her big one and has found a new major fan.
