One of my favorite film soundtracks of all time in one of my favorite movies of all time, just all around great vibes from this album and “boomin” production (i’m aware that was a terrible joke”
A boundary-pushing, exotic step in the right direction for rage rap, and littered with Ken Carson’s signature vibe that makes his shit SOOO addicting.
Hands down, this is the best album I’ve heard this decade so far. I’m not very good at writing reviews for things that I think are perfect, so I’ll try to keep this short. As a “funeral” for The Weeknd, this album is graceful, prestigious, intimate, and one that many artists should be looking to when they think “What should inspire me to make elite music?”
Some of the best R&B I’ve heard in many many years. It also helps that Andre from Victorious (my favorite character) is now a fully mainstream, Grammy-winning breakout star, so this gets extra points there. I love the lead single to this deluxe “NOT FAIR”. This deluxe really ties up all the loose ends the standard LP left us with, answering questions like “what if there was a song with MORE of that thing I liked from this song?”
Clear, concise, and a package of some of my favorite Southern fast food bangers in a very long time. Every song made sure to have that one super hype chant-worthy moment whether it be the hook, chorus, or explosive feature verse from the likes of Juicy J, 1900RugRat, and Smino.
