Very straightforward y2k hard rock worship, but super promising for a debut. I'll be watching these guys.
The ability of this band to seamlessly blend fun silly pop-punk with some absolute gut-punchers that make me cry at work needs to be studied.
Awnthay has been the Boston band I've been most excited about for years, since their first LP. After the split with Fracture Type came out last year I've been hyped to hear them get heavier and more raw, so this record was a complete synthesis of everything I was looking for. This guy is doing Daryl Palumbo vocals harder than Daryl Palumbo does Daryl Palumbo vocals, but if Glassjaw isn't going to release any new music any time soon I'll take what I can get. There isn't a single missed opportunity on this EP and it's getting me really excited about this band.
