OLTH is probably the best metalcore / screamo bands right now, and they depart screamo ever so slightly on this record to provide angry breakdowns, all while their vocalist shrieks all over these. Damn. I don’t keep up with screamo all that much, but this was sick. The vocals are absolutely unhinged in the best way
Pure emotional static, everything feels kind of submerged and distant but still heavy in a weird way. Really immersive and moody, just doesn’t always break out of that haze enough to give you those big “oh wow” moments.
Very chaotic and loose, but I can't get over how it's basically a horse whining over the instrumentals the whole time. There isn't really a world where the vocals would ever work for me.
