I like how personal this album is. Taylor's writing is first-rate, and I enjoy listening to the pleasant melodies and smooth, calming vocals.
The instrumentals remind me slightly of the 90s, something from Alanis Morissette, which isn't terrible, but they sound incredibly dated and uninteresting. Lorde's dull vocals also do not make it any better, but at least some of the songs exhibit introspection and self-awareness.
Listened to it again. A bit better but I'm still not a fan of the washed-out production and somewhat cringey lyrics.
A very solid album. I wish she brought this consistency of quality to her other projects.
Idk why y'all are review bombing this.
Super different from the typical pop album of the 2010s. Unique and revolutionary for its time. However, I don't believe it holds up as well as her other albums.
One of her better albums lyrically...but drags in some places.
Very unique sound from her. Kinda disjointed but would love to see it rereleased.
