Random album I fell across, Brostep really is getting some love in the big 2025 huh.
Fave Tracks:
1-800-FUCKOFF, Sum Chic Shit, MY UNNIES
I have always adored Danny Brown for having one of the most unique voices and playing different instrumentals, He is to me the definition of Experimental Hip Hop. I love that last year and this year he has worked with many underground legends in the hyperpop side like underscores, Quadeca, Jane remover, 8485, Frost children. It just expanded the sound he could make. What I love is that despite it's his album he plays into the production of the feature, and it makes them sound amazing on ... read more
Quadeca continues to evolve as a person and performer. We see more ambition in the production to be slower, more like chamberfolk and folk. The sound really works and I will always be excited for the next album and what he decides. He shown here you can really go into any direction, hyperpop, rap, folk. I hope he continues to evolve and expand his sound. He keeps going up and up.
Fave tracks:
Godstained, THUNDRRR, MONDAY, Forgone
Found this album on a random review and I had no expectations as this was my first impression of Vylet Pony and at first it took me a minute to get into it as it had elements at first I do not like in brostep and chipmunk esque vocals. But the song that clicked with me to continue and give a full listen despite some earlier gripes (not that it wasn't well orchastrated or performed) was "falling in love with a corporate Illustration". When I saw it was almost 9 minutes I ... read more
I am so proud of Glaive and this record. I feel like his been in the hyperpop space for so long and within that space it's difficult to carve uniqueness and an identity. This album is by far his strongest. Despite being long in terms of the number of songs, it's incredibly balanced. It has subtle ballads like Polo Ponies, i love you and it sounds stupid and Bonnie & Key. Which brings a form of softness to the album. This might be a me issue but hyperpop adjacent records can become ... read more
I think this album leans far more into the sensual aspects compared to the original album. The first one had that album but had the eeriness of lyrics and production to be more of a commentary on dating and hookup culture. This does this well but has more of the banger side of things. I feel like the hits are more repeatable here but the original just had the consistency,
Faves off the album:
Sushi
Predictable Girl
Love Crimes
Very uninspiring listening for majority of it. Vocal performance is incredible though. Some production could've leaned more into the soul Aspect to set further apart. It's inoffensive and easy to listen to I'll give it that
Highkughts:
Nice To Each Other
Lady Lady
Close Up
This is some of Taylor's worst writing of her career. As an artist that prides herself on songwriting and the standards she has from previous albums it really brings this album down. A lot of the middle of the album is quite uninspiring with poorly written and unengaging choruses.
Only reason it isn't lower is because Fate of Ophelia is a good song, opalite chorus is pretty catchy and wood despite the horrible writing is creatively interesting. It shows how poor it is when the title ... read more
Adore the album, so fun, not predictable despite being an edm album and so well produced.

I would be lying if I said this took me the longest of Jane Remover albums to get into. But when I got into it I was hooked. The main problem I had is I listened on poor headset initially not really made for music where layers were lost, it sounded muddy and chaotic in a bad way. With proper music and with time I came to adore the album. It's likely an album that is more on the guilty side of music where I will listen to this album on repeat but it is very difficult to recommend to people ... read more
One of the most versatile and unique artists strikes again. this album doesn't particularly stick to one genre or sound and is incredibly eperimental at times. While I think the theme and lyrics are incredible as usual from st. vincent some songs instrumentals I couldn't connect well with and those songs didn't stick as well. Despite this there's some songs with great replay value while others are great to experience as always.
One of the most fun synthpop albums I ever listened to. Incredibly fun and experimental tho you can tell that they haven't perfected their sound like they did on their most recent album, songs don't transition within eachother but it's bop after bop and for 2021 it was the best album of the year.
Magdalena bay took some of the weaknesses of mercurial world in terms of consistency in sound and theme into account to create an incredible psychedelic synthpop album. Soundwise every song transition to the next flawlessly keeping on theme the entire album. The album is still catchy and fun as ever while being an incredibly easy listen. It's an album where you can pick songs out and enjoy them but as a whole package it's even better.
This was first introduced to me through discover weekly, I am not familiar to their early work but this album is incredible indie rock. The album clearly takes influence from other british rock acts like arctic monkeys and blur but freshens up through maintaining a catchy pop-esque element behind the music. Funnily enough it's why I think the most popular song is popular is it's similarity to artists like arctic monkey and it's one song sound wise I connected the least with. ... read more
Porter does ambient electronic music perfectly. He captures instrumentals that feel so comforting. Lyrics perfectly supplement and help the instrumentals. The instrumentals feel so emotional and I personally connect to the instrumentals a lot. One of my favorite electronic albums ever.
Porter robinson does a massive change in delivery compared to Nurture emphasizing more of a lyrical and live band aesthetic. While some songs does infuse old rave and modern day hyperpop for the most part it's stripped back and more emotional. While I think some lyrics are too unserious in certain songs for something intentioned to be very emotional, it's still very strong and he conveys his emotions well on the album. Also sometimes lyrical content can be pretty on the nose and not ... read more
