Actually embarrassing how many of the high-rating reviews are "I don't actually like this, but I'm review-bombing it because I don't like the people who dislike it". This is why RYM deweights new accounts and people with lopsided rating systems and bans people who write nonsense reviews. Nobody even talking about the album so why should I?

Jokes aside it's interesting to see the response to this album and the constant refrain of "wow I didn't think a YouTuber could make something this good" or "just ignore it's made by a YouTube rapper" and "this would be more respected if it wasn't by a YouTuber".

Have a Nice Life for people who've done something with their lives but not enough to avoid being ridiculed for being boring and unnotable aside from the weird childhood secrets and existential dread at wanting to "be something", but not knowing what, that they've repressed up in their middle class big city condos

Pro tip: make the most inarticulate, directionless and derivative "experimental rock" album with enough conviction that you're the best thing since sliced bread and people will eat it up
Makes Cavalcade look positively god-awful. I'm still not a fan exactly but at least they're having a bit of fun unlike that directionless vomit of tones where they took more care in developing random loudness shifts than having interesting riffs and motifs. Unfortunately, the only thing black midi do better than their "avant-prog" predecessors is being younger and better-looking.
