This is the definition of a misunderstood piece of work. When she launched it, Gaga defined it as an explosion of her pain in the form of electronic music, and this very concept is what should have justified the chaos, messiness, overproduction, rawness, frivolousness and absurdity behind the project.
But it wasn’t received the way it was supposed to, and now Gaga barely wants to revisit this period of her repertoire. Which is a shame, because this is arguably the most quintessentially ... read more
I can’t put into words how much this album means to me and how it changed my life. To me, it has the same artistic relevance as Picasso’s Guernica or Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. There’s a before Born This Way and an after Born This Way.

After IICHLIWP it would have been easy for them to retreat into pop stardom and give us 15 Without Me’s, but life had other plans, and it’s admirable how Halsey turned their experience into ... read more
