GOD this album is just SO solid all the way through Tempo is undoubtedly their best title track and there are some KILLER b-sides on here (24/7, 후폭풍 (Bad Dream), WOW) !!! Such an enjoyable listen it's great
Best track: Tempo
Worst track: 여기 있을게 (Smile On My Face)
Listened to this mini twice in a row while doing this list, WOW this is way better than I remember it being. 1-2-3 right at the beginning, Twenty Four is a banger and Winter Heat is a nice song. GREAT mini, For Life is like in their top 5 songs and Falling For You isn't far behind. Amazing.
Best track: For Life
Worst track: Twenty Four
More dancy than their previous stuff and also lacking a bit of the heart. Has some really good standouts but falls apart in the middle a little bit. Still Monster is one of their best title tracks and 백색소음 (White Noise), 유리어항 (One and Only) and Stronger are legendary B-Sides.
Best track: Stronger
Worst track: Cloud 9
EXO's second Christmas mini and their first with their current lineup of 9 members. While all the tracks are good it doesn't have the colour of their previous releases. That being said 불공평해 (Unfair) is one of their best songs. Eommayaaa
Also, though LIGHTSABER is catchy it's not one of their better songs.
Best track: 불공평해 (Unfair)
Worst track: LIGHTSABER
This album is totally skitz they were goin crazy when they made Wolf man. So iconic. There are some real beautiful songs on here, like Baby Don't Cry and My Lady (ESPECIALLY My Lady what a song) and it's pretty solid all the way through. Wolf is extremely 2013 K-Pop, with the EDM influences and all. 3.6.5 is saved by Kris singing. Like EX'ACT the middle bit lets down the album as a whole a lil bit. But still When u smileeeee sunshineeeee
Best track: My Lady
Worst track: 3.6.5
Surprising how EXO was able to adjust so quickly to the loss of Luhan and Kris. Sad that this album is first after their departure but atleast Tao is still here. AMAZING 4-track run straight away and then the quality kinda drops but there's still good tracks after them (HURT especially). MY ANSWER is beautiful, CALL ME BABY is a great title track... quality album. JUST a little bit better than XOXO.
Best track: MY ANSWER
Worst track: EL DORADO
Not as outstanding and iconic as earlier EXO-M stuff but still really legendary and any EXO-M content is extremely welcome to me. No bad ones on this one, no bad ones in their discography so far at this point. Real solid effort the whole way through and Overdose is one of their best title tracks. So much Kris and Tao content on this one too. Look into ur eyes, butter-butterflies. Did I mention I love EXO-M
Best track: 上瘾 (Overdose)
Worst track: Thunder (雷电)
This album is just so iconic!!! I really hated it the first time I listened to it but I think it's just an acquired taste. MAMA is like an epic song it's got so much going on and it's so brave for a debut song. WHAT IS LOVE is just beautiful and Luhan and Chen just have beautiful voices omg. Though it doesn't have a song that I think is 10/10 (WHAT IS LOVE is certainly close) it flows great and stays consistent (a big problem with a handful of EXO's albums is that the best songs are right at ... read more
Absolutely beautiful the whole way through. Christmas music you can listen to all year long. Beautiful performances from everybody on this one. Their best christmas album.
Best track: 圣诞节 (Christmas Day)
Worst track: 十二月的奇迹 (Classical Orchestra Version)
A more mature sound for the group, most definitely. I initially hated 'Give Yourself a Try' but it's grown to be one of my favourites from them. Includes my favourite 1975 song right now, 'I Couldn't Be More In Love', which is gut-wrenching and absolutely beautiful (what a chorus man!!! and when that wailing guitar comes in GOD). Lacks some of the wonder of the first couple albums, but is more experimental, risky and interesting. Looking forward 2 what they do in tha next album!!
Best track: I ... read more
Like the first album, more 80's influenced though, and has better standouts, while lacking the extreme cohesiveness that the first record had. Of course, 'If I Believe You' is almost perfect but has some lyrics during a certain verse that leave a lot to be desired; "I'm a lesbian kiss, I'm an evangelist", blah. 'I like it when you sleep...' is a great ambient piece that builds tremendously, and the same can be said about the gorgeous 'Please Be Naked'. Other standouts include 'UGH!', ... read more
Enjoyable but very repetitive. It has it's moments though.
Best track: Triad
Worst track: 遠い将来で失
This album is truly beautiful. I'd probably compare this to Frank Ocean's Endless or Kendrick Lamar's untitled unmastered., even Corbin's leftovers are amazing. Can't wait to see what he does next - this one's already one of the best of the year.
Best track: kill all whites
Worst track: nightcum
I don't know what it is about this album that's so appealing to me but it's amazing hahaha
Perfect length and amount of tracks and it's so fun and carefree and catchy and wow!!! I love this album and I can say with all certainty that it's gonna end up in my top 5 for 2019.
Best track: stupid horse
Worst track: I Need Help Immediately
BTS new Japanese single Lights feels a bit generic on first listen, but certainly not bad. Not extremely attention grabbing, but everybody does their job well of course. The Japanese version of Boy With Luv is Halsey-less and I sorta like it better that way lol. This version of IDOL falls a bit flat and feels a bit off, though. Of course, that is to be expected when you are so used to listening to a song in a different language. The Lights / Boy With Luv single is pretty good.
The main weakness of most of these tracks is the production, something that I've found to be common in Kerser's discography. He really raps well and keeps it entertaining, though. Hearing Welcome for the first time is one of those rare music moments that just makes you smile, and though Don't Fuck With Kerser's production is horrendous, the hook is so infectious that it makes it all okay again. Even weaker tracks like Magic Trick are still held up by Kerser's charisma on tha mic. Australia's ... read more
