A terrific second album! Dance Apocalyptic is a brilliant track with "Look into my eyes" channelling Les Baxter. Awesome.
I'm continually drawn back to Immunity..it's beauty belies it's first-listen simplicity, but then...as you sit back and ride the wave of those sublime hooks the intricacy takes hold, Abandon Window is a stroke of genius. Sure to be one of the greatest albums of 2013...if not the decade.
I haven't been this moved by another album this year...whether or not this is a good thing I still don't know, such is the beauty of Shaking the Habitual, patience is a virtue, as is acceptance as their tracks snake and diversify at a moments notice. Brilliantly complex..or just insane.
Julia's pop tinged chambered vocals echo over forlorn pianos whilst her talent for layering is on full display in Loud City Song, highlights for me "He's running through my eyes" and "This is a true heart" stand-out as among her best ever works. Truly a sublime album and more accessible than previous.
