I found this band at a young age thanks to a friend of mine's father, and this was the first album I listened to, which absolutely changed my life. I was astonished at the level of mastery of everything displayed in this record, and I could not be grateful enough to my friend's dad for introducing this to me. Growing up on progressive rock and especially Yes, it's hard for me not to love this album to pieces. It's about as incredible as any prog head would say it is, simply a masterpiece not only in the field of progressive rock but in rock music as a whole. Roundabout is an incredible classic rock song and other cuts like South Side of the Sky and Heart of the Sunrise are extremely underrated even now.
Although I originally thought it to be pretentious, overblown, and full of filler like this album's first critics thought, Pink Floyd's iconic 1979 rock opera is a masterpiece and incredible work of art, and it is and will forever by my favourite album of all time. It houses many classic rock songs that still hold up today and many more excellent tracks, like The Trial which is astoundingly underrated.
