despite the title mentioning the large, bustling, smelly, metro city of philadelphia, to me, this album feels like returning home after a long time away from the small suburban town you grew up in. Gives me similar feeling as MJ Lenderman's "Manning Fireworks" with less immediate bops and instant catchiness. I love Vile's voice.

maybe it’s hearing an album with so little positive messaging and a jaded and pessimistic outlook on the world in a time like this or, maybe it’s just overly packed with 25 songs, but whatever it is, I’m definitely not feeling it as much Ive felt past JPEG albums. I think Peggy’s stretched out his sound a bit too much. Like we’re getting noisier bro?!?!?

I’ve never loved this kind of music, but I was shocked. Appalled. Cheetah print is genuinely a shocking song. Cool moments I guess.
But, but, but I’d be remiss to not mention that summer is right round the corner and the change of seasons may have positive impacts on my liking of this album. Get me on the beach with fine tings all around and this may all of sudden sound like a classic.
