Lil Yachty, once the exciting future of light-hearted trap music, releases by far his most bland record. I honestly wish there was more I could say but "Lil Boat 3" is as unambitious as it is stale. I sincerely hope this is the end of the endlessly downward spiralling "Lil Boat" series and Yachty can retain some dignity with his next album, which I hope will be shorter: a lot shorter.

43 minutes of subtle, grief-stricken heart-break told through whispery vocals that will give you goosebumps. Losing a loved one is one of the hardest things anyone will have to go through and Sufjan captures this pain in its rawest form.

Childish Gambino's magnum opus is as inconsistent as it is mesmerising. In many ways I feel like "Because The Internet" is one of those few albums that are relatively untouchable by general critique; it's well aware of it's flaws and to iron out it's eccentricities is to take away it's personality. If you're into slightly hit-or-miss lyrics and completely unpredictable track lists, this is the one for you. If not... too bad.

2 years after the surprisingly agreeable "beerbongs & bentleys", Post fails to deliver to quite the same extent. Don't get me wrong it's not awful by any means, I can find enough replay value to just about consider "Hollywood's Bleeding" passable, but it's messiness is undeniable. I wish there was more to these 17 songs, but alas, at least we got Travis Scott and Ozzy Osbourne on the same song... right?

The Weeknd returns with more vigor and likability than ever, "After Hours" being by far his most accessible work. This album explores the bright lights of nocturnal city life, with the complimentary drugs and sex proceeding in an almost elegant fashion. Although not quite the mountain that is "Trilogy", this album can certainly still hold it's own in The Weeknd's heavily saturated discography. The type of dark R&B that Abel has created over the past decade has been ... read more
Mavi's debut record is a landmark for abstract hiphop and one which rivals some of the likes of Earl Sweatshirt and MIKE's best work. It's personal, yet still contains the relatability that is so crucial to the genre, it's bold both lyrically and instrumentally and "Let The Sun Talk" is (at it's most simply put) stunning.
