This sounds exactly like Easter peeps taste: excessively sugarcoated, with an unpleasant aftertaste, as well as having a level of popularity I will never understand that fades after the season ends.
I finally took some time to sit down and listen to this very intriguing album by one of my favorite artists. Let me start off by saying that this is both an incredibly cursed album covers and one of the best I have seen in a long time. Seeing as the album title is relating to the substance epidemic, the album art does a very good job conveying the message that the album itself delivers. I liked this album more than I was expecting to, and J. Cole really feels like he’s rapping from the ... read more

I had never heard of Common before listening to this but knew this album was rated very highly, and I definitely see why. The production is incredible, and there are no shortage of valuable life lessons to be found throughout. The album is relatively short and concise, and “Testify” is one of the best interpolations I have heard in my life. Not to mention that “GO!” was also great and extremely catchy. Overall, a perfect album, and I’m just now realizing it was ... read more
Wow, I’m so excited to see where d4vd goes on from here. The kid who started his career by recording background music in his sister’s closet has finally released his first album, and, though cliche, it has an enchanting and warmly predictable nature. The songs sound like your average love ballads, but are very well performed and signify lots of potential for this already huge star.
I think that my favorite part of this album was simply that it was lacking of any noticeable rhyme schemes, catchy hooks, or in-your-face production, unlike virtually every other song nowadays. It made me really take a step back in a way I haven’t done in a while and just think of how blessed I am to be living here on planet Earth and be loved. Firstly, I would like to say that the production on here is beautiful and the vocal delivery is absolutely stunning, which is somehow more than I ... read more
First off, I want to make it clear that J. Cole is my favorite artist, so there is nobody I would rather review the day before my birthday. This song, and in fact J. Cole’s entire discography just goes to show that because you have been going on for over a decade does not mean that you fall off(no pun intended) by any means. This beat is heavenly, and J. Cole lays down undeniably one of his best songs since 4 Your Eyez Only. He is able to easily adapt to the current times and do so in his ... read more
I have taken a long break from listening to K-pop and am trying to get back into it. I thought I’d start with the newest addition to Stray Kids’ discography. Stray Kids have been my favorite band for as long as I can remember, but I do believe they have been declining in the quality of their music since 5-Star. This Mixtape, on the other hand, left me pleasantly surprised. I don’t think there was a single bad song on here(I skipped Giant because I’ve already heard the ... read more
What an annoying-ass, generic melody. I regret listening to this shit. Benson Boone is at this point nothing but an unremarkable pop artist to be played on the radio because of his inoffensive lyrics, put in the nicest way possible. And no, I will not be listening to this album. Also, put a shirt on.
Some very basic but engaging trap songs from Post Malone’s rap career. The hits carry hard on this album, but it is filled with many highlights. Favorites: Psycho, Better Now, Stay, Rockstar, Candy Paint, Ball for Me
I realized that I had never taken a listen to this well-known pop record jam-packed with smash hits from the pandemic. I must say, it was better than I was expecting. Olivia Rodrigo is able to deliver the narrative of many popular love ballads in a unique and rock-influenced way. Favorites: deja vu, drivers license, jealousy, jealousy
This is a surprisingly solid listen, and the first Big Sean album I have heard. It starts off very good with two of my favorite tracks, Deep Reverence and Wolves, and continues into a decent rollout of storytelling tracks by Big Sean about his native city. Favorites: Deep Reverence, Wolves, Guard Your Heart, Don Life
