I love Lil Wayne, I really do. But this album just gets progressively worse.
The first four songs were really good and gave a promising start, and then it started to spiral out of control. Weezy tries to do a cover of “Island in the Sun” by Weezer, then fantasizes about his guitar. The whole album is predictable in the absolute best way, and there wasn’t a single song I didn’t love. The jazz influence is stunning, and the album’s narrative is just so enchanting. Also, the cover is amazing.
Well…I certainly don’t hate it compared to his other hits.

The first song was mediocre at best, and then I couldn’t even make it through the next two. I miss old Trippie.
I actually really enjoyed this album. Akon has some very nice melodies and though the album is inconsistent, the album overall follows a theme of loneliness and efforts to improve upon one’s past self. This is my first time hearing a project from Akon.
