chlothegod - Nearly Straight
63

this album was.. okay overall
it for sure was a disappointment considering how good the first album i listened to by chlo was, but i still respect this lp, because she was finding her sound, and seeing what would work. but that aside, it was a pretty mediocre listen. it did have some highs, but not many of the songs were very memorable, even after 3 listens. it was pretty short though, so i didnt become boring at some point, so it was still relatively enjoyable. thats all i really have to say ... read more

Jane Remover - ♡
76

this ep literally has so many genres
both glitch pop, rnb, jersey club and so many more genres and it somehow fits together really well
overall it didnt really meet my expectations overall for a jane remover ep, but obviously there was still quality here and there. the sound of it was very consistent, and the tracks blended in together very well overall. my only problem about it really is the songs are a bit too long. instead of 6 long songs id rather have for example 10 average songs, but ... read more

chlothegod - I Feel Different Every Day

what a great album
i dont understand why i loved this album so much depsite it being so simplistic and mainstream-sounding. i just have a thing with short lesbian indie albums, i guess. but yeah, this album was very great and amazing, and it seems like she had a lot of fun recording this lp. it had alot of different songs to offer, each of them being its own unique creation, different from any other songs, although it was still very cohesive in a way. the overall quality of the album was also ... read more

Black Thought & Danger Mouse - Cheat Codes
92

despite being in the industry for over 30 years now, black thought and danger mouse are both incredibly consistent and putting great music out, and possibly both of thems best work to date. every single feature did their thing aswell. especially a$ap rocky and mf doom. the production was absolutely incredible, being rusty and grimey yet very melodic, emotional, and somehow nostalgic? one of my favorite aspects of this album though, was black thoughts absolutely incredible flow and lyricism. i ... read more

Magdalena Bay - Mercurial World
81

mercurial world is magdalena bays second studio album, and they honestly did a great job. it had very high highs but it also had some lows being just regular pop music. obviously though the highs weigh more which is why its an 81/100. it had some very fun songs like “the beginning”, “secrets (your fire” and “you lose!” which are all some of my favorite tracks of 2021. there werent any bad tracks, and for the most part it was pretty consistent. it wasnt ... read more

21 Savage - WHAT HAPPENED TO THE STREETS?

on the first song, i was actually kinda hyped, but the longer the album went on for, the more unbearable it got. such a boring album. nearly every song sounded the same. the same flow, same production same everything. oh and dont even get me started on mr recoup. the beat unironically sounds worse than the first beat i ever made. it sounds like someone with no experience with producing who has only seen synthet on youtube got fl studio for the first time. there was only like one or two songs i ... read more

Radiohead - In Rainbows
100

i actually got this album on vinyl for christmas before even listening to it, so i figured id listen to it.

this album is such a masterpiece. absolute perfection from start to finish. every single member of the band absolutely went off and tried their absolute hardest, and ended up making one of the greatest albums of all time. despite it being over 10 years since their breakthrough album - ok computer, they topped it off ever so slightly. should i even consider this album experimental? cause ... read more

Vince Staples - Dark Times
88

i loved this album! his rapping was great, the production was great, the album was great! every single song was a banger after banger, and it was super consistent overall. its a very inspirational album, which shows alot in little homies. i also loved the lyricism on this album, about the troubles and joys about being a celebrity. i know i say this about literally every album i review but its very enjoyable and replayable too.
easily one of the best albums of 2024

Earl Sweatshirt - Live Laugh Love
87

earl is still one of the best artists of this generation
i loved this album so much, its one of the most enjoyable albums of the year, mainly because it was so short making it very replayable. his flow on this album was so incredible, and the production was unlike any production ive heard on a hip hop album. live laugh love is the perfect title, because its just such a feel-good album. very good and fun album

Mac Miller - Faces
91

this is exactly why i love music
even though this is 1 hour 30 minutes long i loved every single minute of it. most of the times i get impatient after like an hour of an album but this was just so peak the whole time. both the rapping and the production was so good from start to finish, and it is so impressive considering this project is posthumous. easily one of the best albums of 2021

Gingerbee - Apiary
93

i have no idea what i just listened to but i absolutely loved it
such a beautiful ep, especially instrumentally
its such an amazing ep, but i kinda disliked the screaming, and it happened alot unfortunately
other than that, the vocals, the instrumentals, the progression, its basically perfect
easily one of the best eps of the year, and possibly also of this decade

i just hate discovering such an incredible band so close to the end of them

Clairo - Sling
87

such a sweet album
its very similar to charm, though i think charm is more polished and better overall. it was very soft from start to finish. both her vocals and the instrumentals. i really loved this album. it was super cohesive and nice to listen to. again - its not her best album, but its still very good.

Magdalena Bay - mini mix vol. 2
76

vol 2 feels like a slightly improved version of mini mix vol 1
it was very cohesive, and the songs flow together very well, but there werent many memorable tracks on there unfortunately, but it was still a good ep overall.
it was alot quirkier and chiller than the first mini mix, and i prefer it slightly over it

review 13/365 of my album marathon

Magdalena Bay - mini mix vol. 3
88

such an improvement from mercurial world
it has some experimental indie stuff and a bit of their classic groovy synthpop
obviously this was quickly debunked by imaginal disk but at the time of release this was probably their best project.
its a very short ep, so there isnt really much more to say about it

Black Country, New Road - Live at Bush Hall
88

very very cool album
it was very cool hearing some other band members sing after isaac leaving the band
obviously its not as good as their other projects, possibly even their worst but they were discovering their new sound at the time and i respect that. also very impressive and brave of them to do it live and even more impressive: do it completely flawlessly. some songs were around 7/10s but it also had some of the best songs of the year. especially turbines/pigs oh my godd its so good

Nas - Light-Years
82

nas and dj premier are back again, proving neither of then have lost it yet
great production from premier, and absolutely peak rapping from nas
nas still sounds like hes in his mid 20’s and thats really impressive considering hes like 50 years old now. it sounds like something hed release in the 90s aswell
overall: im super happy with this album, and it did not disappoint

redveil - sankofa
95

2025 is still going strong, with another incredible release towards the end of the year
everything about it, from the smooth, jazzy, rnb production to the intense and inspirational lyrics, its near perfect. two arguable soty on one album is so impressive, and you can so clearly see how much hes improved his sound and songwriting. you can just tell how proud of himself he is, and how he really made it, especially on track 11, “glimpse of you”.
its just such a peak and inspirational ... read more

Magdalena Bay - mini mix vol. 1
71

its a cool album
obviously its not their best, as a matter of fact possibly their worst, but it was still a good ep. it had some very smooth, jazzy synthpop elements to it, which you can totally see in their recent works. some of the songs did sound a bit unfinished, unfortunately (especially nothing baby), but it still had some good quality songs

would i return to this album? probably not, but it was still a good ep overall

review 8/365 of my album marathon

Lola Young - I'm Only F**king Myself
82

one of the best mainstream releases of the year
it was insanely consistent. it would be impossible for me to rank this from worst to best, and it was really cohesive aswell, yet none of the songs sounded the same.
obviously the overall sound of it wasnt extremely good, but it was still super enjoyable, and it totally exceeded my expectations

review 7/365 of my album marathon

Kanye West - JESUS IS KING
70

a fine album from kanye
it was a very versatile album from start to finish, both including gospel, trap and soul, but he only did a few of them well
obviously a let-down considering kanye west made its still a pretty good listen, especially because its so short
