Tyler, The Creators project WOLF, is an album where he tries to take the next step and succeeds. This album sonically is a drastic step up from Goblin, but there are some flaws. The lyrics seem repetitive where he says controversial words for the hell of it. This album reeks Odd Future as the majority of features are with members of the group. Lowkey, this is one of Logics' best singles ever. If the album is anything like this single, Logic might have a little redemption arc.
Kanye releases his stemplayer exclusive album Donda 2, and it's interesting. The stemplayer is a little music device that allows you to import songs and mix and edit them easily with modes like removing bass or making certain portions repeat or slow down. Donda 2 was released exclusively for the stemplayer as a marketing tool to encourage people to buy it, but with an easy search on SoundCloud, you can get the entire album for free. Denzel Curry drops his best project to date with Melt My Eyez, See Your Future. Usually, there is some type of Rock influence on a Denzel Curry album, whether that be the beats, the features, or just his flow in general, but here, he thrives on changing it up and going for some quieter melodic rapping. Kendrick Lamar releases his most experimental album with Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers. This album shows Kendrick Lamar in a new light as he raps about his vulnerability and describes many situations with his family, like in the songs "We Cry Together" and Auntie Diaries." The only songs I have issues with are Rich Spirit, Rich (interlude) and Auntie Diaries. Rich Spirit is just a mediocre Kendrick Lamar song with nothing special to make this song a "Goods" song. ... read more
